I arrived to test center before test was about to start and I was sent to the wrong room... by the time that proctor and I realized this I was sent back to check in desk, and although they accommodated me by letting me get into the right class room, it was 4 min. into the test, which they would not let me makeup. I had it set up so that I could check in and use the bathroom right before the exam, but because of this mistake I couldn't go to the restroom right before (I am on medication which makes me very thirsty so I have to drink water often) so halfway into section 2 I had to get up and use the restroom... another 5 min. gone. Oh it gets better, guy behind me starts to cough, and gets up to throw up in the wastebasket next to our shared large lab desk.
Horrible horrible experience, because of all of this, I didn't get to finish the first RC section, didn't get to the last passage at all.

I had the RC LR LR LG LR exam, fucked up on the first game... by the time I got to LG I was already so thrown off and nervous from the way the test day began that my nerves were shot. Halfway into the last LR section I realized that I didn't bubble in a few of my LG questions so I quickly skimmed back and did that.

Just not my day, started out bad from the start, totally thrown off, fuck up after fuck up along the way.

My question is this. I already took the LSAT once (Dec 2009) and only got a 156. I have spent the past 3 months studying non-stop and took Blueprint, my score improved drastically and all of my PT were in the mid to high 160s. I also have an absence from Oct 2009 when I signed up and didn't cancel in time. I am just worried that if I cancel it's going to look like crap. on my application there's going to be a Absence (Oct 2009) - 156 (Dec 2009) - A cancel (Oct 2010) - Finally a score, hopefully somewhere in the 160s.

Question of the day. Should I cancel or just keep my score and apply to Southwestern (I want to stay in LA) so I am limited between going to UCLA, USC (out of reach) and Loyola or Southwestern... Pepperdine is too conservative for my taste. I know I am good to go w/ my old score of 154 for southwestern, but should I go ahead and cancel, try again in December, so I can get some money at least? Will I even have a good shot if I am applying in December? If I do apply in December are there any schools which will allow me to send applications in now?

I have a 3.5 from UCLA (double major) w/ tons of community/work/volunteer experience. I'm Iranian, so I doubt that I'll get a minority status.

Thanks for any advice, you folks are the only ones I trust w/ this game.

IF an absence doesn't count and you are qualified to take the test again (based on the 3 tests per 2 year rule), I'd cancel and take the test in December.

A few people have told me to appeal it too, because of their mistake of putting me in the wrong room to start with.

You should do this since you are going to cancel anyways.

Yeah, the other thing I forgot to mention is that the assistant proctors phone also went off in the middle of section 2. The proctor said he was going to report that as an irregularity (or something like that) so I am hoping that both of these things may work in my favor.

Also once the instructions were given the proctor asked if there were any questions, I raised my hand and asked "May I use the restroom" and he specifically said "No, you can't until the break, this room is jail" he said that out loud in front of everyone. The only way that I actually got up and used the restroom in the middle is cuz I went up to him and said "man, I need to use the restroom, when I took the test last December, people were allowed to as long as their turned their test in and were escorted" so he finally said "fine, and sent his proctor to escort me to the restroom"

So should I mention that too? I mean he said his "no this is jail" statement in front of the whole room, everyone heard it.

I am going to write the appeal today and mention that

1. I am asking them to not just cancel my score, but totally wipe it from my record, because of their mistakes (sending me to wrong room, and phone going off)

2. If they wont give me my appeal to cancel my score

the only thing is that I have no proof of being sent to the wrong room. I have nothing in writing, etc. so it's basically just my word.

Won't happen.

This happened to me too. Did you take in VA?

So what am I appealing for? I don't even know what to ask them to do for me.

A refund and a note by the LSAC in case you want to write an addendum is the best you can hope for.

Is the proctor allowed to say that you can't go to the restroom, like my proctor did? is that allowed? I came home and looked up the rules and LSAC states that you have to check in but are able to use the restroom once the test begins. My proctor specifically said "No, you cannot leave, this room is jail until the break"

No, in Southern CA. Did your proctor say he was reporting it as an irregularity ?

Nope. My proctor just apologized. It probably didn't affect anyone since it happened like 20 seconds before time was called.
