Conclusion questions

Post by CurlyKat » Thu Sep 30, 2010 5:18 pm

Hi, can somebody kindly help me understand something please?
I don't understand the conclusion questions! In some of later the tests (50+) there are many questions that ask something like: ..most accurately expresses the conclusion drawn in the argument, or ... main conclusion of the argument... or something like that. Is there a difference in these questions??? I mean- are they different types or something? Usually there are two tempting answer choices - 1st restates (what I think is) the conclusion almost word to word, and the 2nd has a conclusion that follows (restates what seems to be the conclusion together with a premise..), and sometimes the first type is right, sometimes it's the second type. What am I missing?? Thank you!

They are the same kind of question. It might also ask you something along the lines of "the main point of the argument is..." You should find the answer that restates the conclusion of the argument.
