RC on this test was some what interesting?

Post by jarofsoup » Mon Jun 07, 2010 11:21 pm

Did any one find that the RC passages on this test were pretty interesting to read? The topics were not that bad.

Can someone also pm about the Mulch game to talk details? The game was kinda tricky for me I do not know why.

They were not even remotely interesting to me.

Personally, I enjoy reading about Chicano acting troupes.

this is a weird thought, I think. The contingency fee passage is some amazingly boring shit, even by LSAC standards. Not super hard or anything, but boring. Same thing with the chicano acting troop. The dancing bees and new urbanism ones were mildly interesting, I'll admit. Not as interesting as the Ultimate Game, which is one of the few genuinely interesting RC passages ever, I think.

The bees were the best. I knew about bee dancing, of course, but I had no idea that bees would not listen to one of their own about food sources in the middle of a lake (on a boat). I've always maintained those little bastards are smarter than we think and are up to no good.

I'd read about New Urbanism before, which was a pretty substantial confidence boost. I did this part in 5 minutes or so (though I still almost ran out of time on the contingency passage).

I almost actually enjoyed this RC. I thought it was interesting and I finished in plenty of time. No killer passages or questions really threw me for a loop.

I actually liked the contingency fee passage, I read it so quick and was able to comprehend everything. The bee passage put me to sleep. I don't care if bees dance. I dont care how they communicate. Stop talking about it.

Funny as it is, i thought every passage BUT the bees was easy. I must have zoned out. A couple of the questions had me stuck and I essentially guessed. Balls balls balls. Bees bees bees. Shit.

do you guys have any vague impression left of the answer choices for contingency fee? I was running out of time and had to guess almost all the answers to that one, which sucks since the topic was much much more accessible to me than chicano theater.

Way more interesting than last June's RC (which isn't saying much). Fractalzzzzz and Willa Cather were the bratwurst.

yea they are so interesting that I was so deeply sunk in the joy of feeling the breeze of the first 3 articles that I totally ran out of time for the 4th one, which potentially could be the most exciting and intriguing masterpiece.

Pretty much the same for me. I spent way too much time puzzling over a couple of questions in the honeybee and one of the other passages, and had 5 minutes left right as I started the Aussie Law passage. I completely went with whatever answer jumped out at me with the questions and amazingly was able to answer them all before time expired; however if there was even the slightest trickiness with the wordings on a given question or answer choice than I probably missed a few there.

Yea I had to do the same thing as you. If there are any subtle tricks we are done.

By the way judging by your name, u took the June 09 one as well? how much better do u think u will be this time?

Re: vs. June '09, I think my score will be at worst 1 or 2 points worse this time, possibly as good as 4-5 points better. 6 or 7 would be a miracle. Depends on curve and whether I got any of my guesses right.

I am guessing I scored 2 or 3 points better than '09. Pretty meh but would definitely help in applying to places. I guess.

I killed riddled basins and Willa Cather is my -0 bitch, but June '10's RC was probably the section I'm most worried about.

I liked all the articles, but I found the questions on New Urbanism difficult.

I really liked the Western Australia contingency fees passage... oddly enough.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
