I feel like that time would be better spent studying LSAT questions and researching pencil, sharpener, and eraser related options.

Yup, never seen a competent LSAT taker use a highlighter.

The Alvin Brass Bullet pencil sharpener (henceforth ABB) is so fucking legit. The grip is amazing. The look of it is sexy.

The ABB produces a quality point. Unlike other TTTT pencil sharpeners, when you keep on sharpening the pencil, even though it is finished sharpening, the lead will NOT break off completely from the pencil. Instead the lead's tip will break a little and the blade on the ABB will sharpen it again. So you will never have to fear starting all over from no point, if you sharpen too much.

The blade on this baby is just quality. I bet when ever I sharpen my ticon black with the ABB, it feels like its getting its dick sucked (if the ticon black is a she; it will feel like its getting its clit licked).

I timed how long it takes to produce a satisfactory point. The average was 4.6 seconds. (I timed it when the point of the pencil was almost gone)

The only problem is that the ABB does not have a compartment to trap the shavings.

However, the shavings are not messy at all. Just look at the picture below.

Image

My solution therefore is to just wipe the shavings from my desk on game-day. But if you people have a better idea. POAST it.

This post is 10/10, would read again and would recommend.

I bubble after each LG, RC passage, and per 1 pg of LR.

Maybe I need to work on my bubbling technique, but I've traditionally done it after each question because I'm afraid of messing up my bubbling. However, I've tried to do it after each page to save time, but I sometimes catch myself screwing up this way. Maybe I need to practice to become a 170+ bubbler.

I bubble after every Q. The minuscule amount of time saved by bulk bubbling is not worth the slight risk you might fuck up.

I don't try to do more than 2-3 Q's at a time, though.

I bubble after the entire LR section (typically finish with 5-10 minutes left post-bubbling) and after each RC passage and game. Bubbling after every Q is 120.

This is legit serious... I think the first thing you should do after finishing your section, before reviewing tough questions, is go back and double-check your bubbling with your time left over. You don't want to find out you messed up because of a mis-bubble.

TheMostDangerousLG wrote:Strongest impressions:

1) The Palomino Blackwing 602 is a god among pencils. I'm considering throwing caution to the wind and using it on the LSAT, despite it not being an official #2. It's that good.

2) The Palomino HB is quite nice, and may beat out my current favorite, the Mirado Black Warrior (which itself beats out the garbage that is the black Ticonderoga). This may end up being my test day pencil, since it's officially HB (which is basically equivalent to #2, as far as I understand).

Neither the Golden Bear nor the Prospector particularly wowed me. Prospector had similar problems to Ticonderogas (finicky about sharpening/tendency to lose its tip), and while the lead of the Golden Bear was nice, its eraser was enough to rule it out as a test day contender.
Good review. I did some bubble sheet testing with the 602 and my other #2 pencils and held them over an led floodlight, and they all seem to darken the same, but it would be nice to bring something to the test with an officially accepted grade of lead. The Golden Bear seems like a good standard pencil like the Ticonderogas and I like the finish better, but I think writing with the 602 has spoiled me with laying down those silky lines. I'll be ordering some of those HBs to have the mix of premium quality and conformity. The pencils.com comparison chart (LinkRemoved) says the HB and the 602 both have "premium" graphite, and since HB = #2 and the scantrons like the one Dre posted say "USE ONLY NO. 2 OR HB PENCIL," it will be a safe backup in case the pencil enforcer checks my bag and takes the god pencils.

I'm so TTT. I actually left one of the answers blank on my first LSAT. Should have just guessed on it.

Just got my tri-conderogas in the mail today. I've played around with it for a few minutes, and I'm not too impressed. So far I've only sharpened one, but it didn't fit in my electric, and the one they gave me resulted in a short point.

I want to try those Rally pencils. Those Ticonderogas would distract me during the test.

Also, the Palomino Blackwing 602 pencil point snapped during a PT tonight. I took it as a sign; it's officially dead to me. Think I'll be ordering a pack of Palomino HBs though.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
