Re: The Official February 2011 Waiting Thread
My guess is that it was -11; I didn't hear of anyone getting 179.
My guess:
99-101 180
98 178
97 177
96 176
and so on down to 170.
But then again, I haven't heard of any 175s either, so it could well be lower.
I'm feeling bummed that Schopenhauer and Vissi didn't do as well as they wanted. You guys were like the mascots of this thread!

Surprised by how many people got the exact same score/one point off original score.

I definitely don't think that the curve was very generous. However, if I had to make a realistic guess I'd say a -10. Maybe a -9. I would be surprised if it were over a -10 though.dadonno wrote:Guys I have a question: Can we make any guesses from the scores about how many questions we got correct. I got a 159. I usually used to get around 80 questions correct in the preptests. Does it mean i did way lower or could it be because more people scored better? Because I remember someone mentioning february LSAT being more competitive.

FWIW, my median score before this test was 178, and I commonly got 4 wrong total. I felt about as confident on the test as I did on the diags, so I'd bet a good amount of money that a 178 was a result of 3-5 wrong, and I'd wager it was -4. Probably got 1-2 wrong on UNESCO for 2-3 wrong in RC, and then maybe 1-2 wrong in the LRs.

The total amount you can miss on a test and still get a 170.fltanglab wrote:What do the "-x" numbers mean exactly?she&him wrote:I definitely don't think that the curve was very generous. Re: The Official February 2011 Waiting Thread
I'm very disappointed with my 153, but I'm trying to keep it in perspective, because I essentially didn't prepare at all besides having a general knowledge of what each section was like. It was a late decision to apply to law school, because of a lot of different factors, but I was excited about the possibility. I know that if I buckled down and prepared, I could score much higher, but I'm not sure it's even an option for me to wait until 2012. I suppose it is viable, but it's depressing to think that it would be that far away. I'm hoping that my MBA and my higher GPA in graduate school might help me get into one of the lower schools on my list this year, but I know it's unlikely.
I feel worse for people in this thread who put in a ton of effort and didn't get the score they wanted and weren't dumb like me and waited until the last minute though. I think I'm going to buckle down and retake in June though. In fact, as I've been typing this, I've pretty much decided on it unless I do get into one of the schools I was talking about earlier by some miracle.
Here's hoping that everyone is able to make the decision that is best for them concerning retaking!

Thanks! I guessed that's what it could be, but wasn't sure of course.SchopenhauerFTW wrote:The total amount you can miss on a test and still get a 170.fltanglab wrote:What do the "-x" numbers mean exactly?she&him wrote:I definitely don't think that the curve was very generous. Figured it might help nailing down the curve, probably could have done that in a more explicitly tasteful manner.

No man, tact is for people below the 99.9th percentile, if you've got it, flaunt it.minnesotasam wrote:Figured it might help nailing down the curve, probably could have done that in a more explicitly tasteful manner.

Don't tell law schools I apologized then, I rescind my previous statement and re-enter a plea of "suck it."

LOL. I didn't mind I would love to nail down the curve!
I would have to check, but I think the curve has been at least -11 for every test where both 178 and 179 are possible.

Hey, I had a question regarding fee waivers... What's the deal with the ones following the February LSAT? I actually just registered for the CRS today... because I'm not applying for a couple cycles.. Any help would be awesome.
And wow. Congrats to minnesotasam!

Thanks, girl.Pleasye wrote:I think you have PLENTY that you can write about in an addendum and I'm positive that you will do better in June! <3vissidarte27 wrote:Thanks, Pleasye. I choked (and my circumstances certainly warranted it).
Hoping for a higher score in June. What can ya do, right?
The shit just keeps on comin' -- I've been laid off from my job (because after all of the drama in January -- my boss had to cancel a gig and it cost her a lot of money and she couldn't afford to keep me so her parents are watching the baby for free) and now get to study for the LSAT while coordinating a cross-country move and trying to find a job so that I can, you know, eat food and pay rent and live and stuff.
So I hope June will be better. If I can find a job so that I can afford to take it. Heh. It'll be fine, my score will be higher, it'll all be better. The second time always is, right?

In my experience the second time is better

173 on my first and only try. Wish I would have been able to sleep the night before the test, but I really can't complain. Besides, that's what they make Red Bull for.

Congrats to all of those who performed well, looking at some of the scores posted here, I have been posting amongst a group of truly highly intelligent budding legal scholars. For those who did not reach their goal, hang in there. After three attempts I hit the "not so impressive" mark that I wanted to. My applications are in, I can breathe a sigh of relief, its back to grad school and back to work. Good luck to everyone.

Re: The Official February 2011 Waiting Thread
This is consistent with -11, which is also consistent with how I feel my score panned out, and with my immediate impressions while leaving the test. I know we'll never know, but I don't think there's any way I missed fewer than 5, and I think -11 feels very right.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
