Are Government, PI, and In-House Hard to STAY In?

Post by scifiguy » Sun Sep 23, 2012 4:17 am

I understand that biglaw partnership is difficult to attain and associates often are forced to leave a biglaw firm if failing to meet their "standards."

Out of curiosity, my question is whether or not government, PI, and In-House positions have any kind of equivalent trial period in which new hires have to meet some kind of standard to stay on? Are people in these positions let go just as often as in biglaw?
