Does small firm experience count

Post by lobeca » Wed Dec 21, 2011 8:54 pm

I work for a tiny firm as a legal assistant but I do a lot of work them. Running meetings, filing motions, writing letters, advocating on minor case. Does this count on my resume? Should I still intern over the summer? For a non-profit or a large firm? Any other suggestion on experience I should make sure I have before I graduate. I'm a part timer and I just finished semester one. I have a long way to go but I love to plan ahead. Thanks guys!

You should absolutely still intern, but I think potential employers will view it pretty favorably. The less they have to teach you, the better.
