Law school isn't as soul crushing and all consuming as people here would have you think. There is plenty of time for a healthy social life.

Why four years? Are you a part time student? I heard that it's the best for both to break up before 1L starts, so your grades won't be affected by break-up and stuff. So, definitely a good move.Hey-O wrote:My bf and I are going to break up before law school. We love each other but he can't move because of his job and four years of long distance is just too hard. So we're going to remain friends and then see how it goes.

For whatever reason it is pretty ballsy (if realistic) to come at it with that attitude. I will be away from my SO for almost a year before she can come with me so I can at least hope for the best but I think it would be awkward to know that our relationship will end in 6 months for sure.tea_drinker wrote:Why four years? I am hoping the long distance thing will make it easier because calling her for an hour a day and seeing her once a month seems doable and hopefully she won't fell like I was ignoring her like she would if I only spent one hour with her a day when she was living with me.

Check out the current law students board. There is a topic on there with some good insight into your question.
