TLS's best threads, thread.
I thought it would be a great, convenient, efficient idea to have one thread where we can post links to TLS's best threads.
"Best" can be most informative, helpful, hilarious, relevant, important, ridiculous, etc. I hope this will be a one-stop-shop for TLS's gems.
Feel free to start adding.....

This is my favorite response:Pseudonym wrote:I've been thinking about this idea for a few months now because it is an event that truly affected me and has fundamentally changed who I am as a person. It's not exactly an easy topic for me to talk about, but I think it would be valuable to an adcom because it's real, honest, and an indication both of how I've matured as an adult and how I am diverse as a candidate.
So I guess straight to the point. I had a girlfriend for about 7 years. A little over a year ago, I started a second relationship with another girl. I was/am in love with the second girl, but was too afraid to break it off with the first; I basically had two girlfriends for about 8 months. All in all it was a pretty fucked up situation where I would lie to both, go home and see the other occassionally, tell one group of friends that I was going out with one and another group I was going out with the other, etc. I finally did end it with the first girl and thought I had gotten away with it until a week later she figured it all out and called up my girlfriend. Needless to say, shit got real.
I really do regret all of it. I look back on that time and realize how miserable I was and how I had hurt two people that I really cared about. The latter is of course what really bothers me, even to this day. But I also look at it as the point where I "grew up," so to speak. I realized a lot about myself, my life, and life in general (what type of person I want to be, how to treat other people, etc.) and have changed a lot because of it.
Would this be a poor choice to discuss with a law school admissions council because of its general perception of immorality? Or is it a unique opportunity to discuss my growth in character and my changed perceptions/values? Honestly I can see either being the case, I just feel this is a much more compelling PS than what they must usually get ("I am diverse because I am *insert minority group here*").
