yo yo yo. Strong likelihood I end up at BU. I have a buddy in Natick who I am staying with for the 3/31 ASD.

Admitted last Friday. When did you guys receive your letter/offer packet after getting the call? And did that include scholarship info?

I got my packet a week after I got the call, and yes, that included scholarship information.

I'm about 90% sure this is where I'll be in a few months! I still need more money but not much more to make it worth it...I'm hoping I can get it.

How long are you gonna be in Natick? Any plans for while you're there/not at ASD? This is the area I'd like to move to...it's close enough to my SO work that we can swing it and it's also a pretty easy commute to Boston from there.

Ill be there from the end of the Friday event until Sunday morning I believe. Its a nice little suburbs, lots of shopping, they have a huuuuge mall. They are on the T and Commuter Rail. Rent, however, is basically just as bad as in the city. My buddy rents a 600 sqft studio for like 1200. The commute by car is actually pretty expensive. I thik its like 8 bucks or so each way with all the tolls. They have a few nice bars, but it really is very suburbian

Yeah...I live not too far from there now. More West though. I went to HS in a town about 15/20 minutes from there.
I think you can definitely find better rent than that but you need to sacrifice on location/quality of apartment. You can also go next door to Framingham to rent an apartment in some shitty area for cheaper.
I would never drive in because of the tolls, etc. I'd take the commuter rail...I did the math before and I think it ends up cheaper than driving in (parking + Gas + tolls + wear and tear of vehicle) especially if you live close enough to walk to the station. Don't quote me on that though because I could be wrong.
Just wondering if you'd ever been before...sounds like you have! It's a pretty good location (though...I'd only live there for a lower rent).

I agree completely. He lives over by the furniture store, across from Target. Its right on the border and might actually be in Framingham. I love that they have their own Beerworks!

Oh...no wonder he pays so much. Being right there with everything/next to 30 and 9 will definitely up your rent. Although, there are some serious benefits to that!
If you like beer, you should try Jacks Abbey too. It's a local brewery with good beer and food

Now that I'm mostly sure I know where I am going (plz BU...I really am as poor as I say I am) work is so hard. Every time something mildly annoying happens a little voice in my head goes "You know...you could just give your notice now"

Haha, I totally get that. But then I think about trying to get through the next 5 months without a paycheck...

Same! I'm actually really excited for it. I'll be commuting to Boston from central mass so it will be my first time trying the commute out
I'll probably be the one awkwardly asking if everyone is on TLS

I'd take winter in Boston over summer in DC (or anywhere in the south). Wearing a suit in 100+ degree weather is a special kind of misery

I've never been to Boston in the summer, but Wikipedia says it runs about 70% Jun-Oct.

It can definitely be humid but the bad humidity usually comes in waves so there's some relief.
Keep in mind too...it's almost always breezier in Boston than it it outside of the city. The buildings act like a wind tunnel for the sea breeze. This definitely can make a humid day a little easier to deal with
