How were your orientation days?? More exciting or nerve wracking?
Took the edge off things for me. I'm ready to go. Spent most of today in the library reading for Monday and Tuesday.

Many of you do not know me, but I wanted to take a moment and send a quick message to all of you.
Several years ago, I was in the same situation you now find yourself in. I was about to start law school. Looking back, I didn't have a clue what I was getting myself into. At times I was nervous, excited, scared, confident, depressed, and questioned whether I really wanted to do law school. If you are experiencing any of these or other emotions, I assure you they are normal. You are starting down a new and life changing path. An array of emotions is normal. Plus it is far too early to quit this richly rewarding experience you are beginning.
Law school will change the way you think, the way you write, and the way you see the world. You will never look at things the same again.
Every aspect of life is touched upon by the law in some way or another. Soon, you will be learning things you never knew or even thought of before. You will also grasp a more detailed understanding on topics of law that you think you already know.
It isn't easy. If it was easy, everyone would do it. I personally feel that practicing law is a privilege. You are on your way to earning that privilege.
Best of luck,
Kelly Frost
Thanks. I'm excited. First day of class today, felt pretty good.

This is a very kind gesture. Thank you for your warm thoughts toward the class of 2020. I am sure many others c/o 2020ers appreciate it as well.

Easily the worst 1L class. Glad some schools are moving away from it as a requirement.

We can take it next sem if we want, or we can take it later. I'll probably take it next year and take international law in the spring instead.
Property is in the spring for us.

What the what?!? That's seriously not fair! All of the classes in the poll are required for me, plus I have to take an elective in the spring. And civpro and writing are full year classes, ughhh
Civ Pro is all year for yall??? that sucks. I THINK Legal Writing is all year for most people.

Yes, and I couldn't imagine a more unpleasant discipline to be stuck in for the year
I only have four classes this semester, incl legal writing (which is called lawyering and is a year long). Procedure is 3x a week for us, like 2 hrs a class, but only for the semester I think.

Con Law is optional but highly recommended for us. Personally, I will definitely be doing everything I can to get into a Con Law class next spring with Dean Chemerinsky

Nah, Hiko is right. Also, Con Law inspires the worst class discussions.
