I hope so. Last year's acceptance thread had the first wave of decisions being made in the last week of February and in the first week of March.

Did anyone else apply for the international legal studies scholarship?

Checking in, praying for $$$. My sister lives in Nashville and I absolutely love the idea of being close to the mountains, but it'd be hard for me to say no to some other schools if the money is similar.

Met with a Vandy Law grad today. Already was really feeling Vandy, but my hype has gone up quite a bit after talking for about an hour and a half. Really hoping that I get some money.

I called the admissions office earlier today and they said scholarship decisions will be sent by EMAIL this year. They also said that whether or not you receive aid, you will get an email to notify you either way.

Totally forgot to add that, my fault...she (didn't catch her name) said they would be sent out in a "week to two weeks." I still think it will be this week or next, personally.

Just FYI - Law Scholars Merit Award finalist notification e-mails have begun to go out.

They were pretty intense in that email. Those hard deadlines for committing to attend Vandy aside from the deposit date, that statement you have to sign. Understandable though, in that they aren't going to award them to other people if you don't go and it is quite the deal for law school.

Although, did you notice that in the first part it had a firm commitment to attend Vanderbilt by April 8th and then if awarded the scholarship you have to accept by the 11th? The way I read it, that means that if you interviewed on the 9th, which is one of the two possible dates, you'd be required to commit to attend Vanderbilt before even interviewing for the scholarship. Then, you'd have to decide right after receiving it. Idk seems intense to me, maybe I misunderstood part of it.

Now, I realize it is probably a mistake as it says Wednesday, April 8th and the 8th is on a Friday.

Edit - Emailed and the date in the body paragaph is a mistake. The correct date is the one used later in the details section, the 11th.

I doubt we have to wait for that process to play out, I am willing to bet they have a specific allocation amount that goes to those scholars and a separate pool for merit based aid.
