Re: Duke Law c/o 2018
Hello everybody,
I am looking to buy a new PC laptop. As one of the requirements from Duke, it has to have a TPM chip. How important is it to have it. I called Duke Computer Center, and they could not answer this question and said that they would call me back.
What are you people doing, those of you who have PC laptops? Do they have TPM chips?
Thank you a lot.

Any laptop manufactured after 2006 tends to have a TPM Chip. They're pretty standard. This is especially true for the major brands like Dell, HP, Toshiba, etc. At this point it will be hard to find a new computer without TPM, than it is to find one that includes it.

I was looking at ASUS computers, and they do not have TPM chips. What PC laptops do most people buy for Duke?
Did anybody buy from Duke Technology Center?

I will be using a MacBook Air. If you really want an ASUS, ASUS does sell TPM chips seperately for between $13-$20.

Thank you, MadwomanintheAttic,
I talked to Duke Computer Center and was told that a TPM chip is not necessary at all.

Per the e-mails they've sent, some time shortly before LEAD week. Presumably some time next week.fredfred wrote:Does anyone know when our book list will be released?

So I've had some trouble trying to add our duke email to apple mail. Anyone else having this problem? After I have added it, I keep getting the message to add the password, and when I do, it just comes back.

I couldn't get it to work at first either, but I found this and followed these steps and it's been working so farWinston1984 wrote:So I've had some trouble trying to add our duke email to apple mail. I signed up. Figured it couldn't hurt and if my mentor and I don't gel there isn't a lot lost in trying.dylicious wrote:Are you guys signing up for the mentor thing? Upperclassmen, is it something you recommend?

Technically moved in Aug 1st. Haven't actually slept in Durham yet though. Probably won't until the second half of next week.MadwomanintheAttic wrote:When does everyone plan to be in Durham?
