I am a 3L in the process of applying to sit for the California Bar next summer. I submitted the Moral Character application several months ago and have been receiving periodic emails about my status. Most recently, I received an email stating that my application was assigned to an investigator for further review.
I have found this process to be very opaque, and it is unclear to me if this email is significant in any way. Is this something that everyone receives? Does it bear any indication on my application in particular? I expect no issues with the C+F, but still this is the cause of some anxiety.
Please let me know if anyone has any insight!

Re: CA Moral Character Investigator Assignment
Yes, I believe this is an email that everyone receives. It means that your application has been assigned to an investigator for further review and is a normal part of the process. Try not to worry too much. I'm sure if there were any issues with your character and fitness, you would have heard about it before now.
