Congrats to all who passed. And for those who didn't pass, take some time to rest up but hang in there. You can do it. https://www.virginiabarexamtutor.com/re ... -bar-exam/

So it's not possible to ever find out our MBE score? If we transfer it to a jux that accepts transferred MBE scores, can we then request it from the new jux? For example, from jux like AL or MN (which authorize release of scaled MBE scores?)

My understanding when I read the paper about transferring MBE scores in the package we received was- you can request the transfer, but still not get the score. You would just be told if it was high enough to pass in the new jrs.justonemoregame wrote:So it's not possible to ever find out our MBE score? However, I am interested to hear if this is incorrect and we can somehow get a score

So I actually called them about this today because I need to know if my score is higher than a certain number for a job application. They said you can send in the "inquiry" form and put the jurisdiction/what score you need to know if you got higher than and they'll send you a letter back letting you know. Not sure though if they send you an exact score or just let you know you got higher than whatever was required in the other jurisdiction.bsktbll28082 wrote:My understanding when I read the paper about transferring MBE scores in the package we received was- you can request the transfer, but still not get the score. For anyone interested in zeroing in on their scaled MBE, here's a list of threshold ranges from other jux, all of which accept transferred scores:
Palau - 120 (lowest)
DC - 133
Wisc. - 135
AL - 140
MN - 145
N.D. - 150
ME - 155 (highest)
Of course, each inquiry costs $30.

Re: July 2016 Virginia Bar Thread
Made the mistake of checking the William & Mary answers and had a dream last night that the VBBE sent a letter saying they had made a mistake by putting me on the pass list.
In other news, no VSB# here, but I sent in my stuff late last week. They have cashed the check for my oath card, though. Not sure what that means at this point.

I check the Pass List almost daily to make sure my name is still on there.

Anyone else trying to do all three events Dec 6-8 in Richmond? Would like to book rooms, but don't know yet if I'll get my preference for the mandatory professionalism course on the 8th. Do we have to wear suits to the CLE

The website says "no prescribed dress code." Or something like that.
I booked rooms that had free cancellation so that rates wouldn't go up. Trying for the class on the 8th - not going the 6th.
ETA: they did cash my registration and CLE checks, so hopefully we hear soon about which class we're in.

Got my professionalism course registration today - Dec. 8th - hope to see some of you there! And as an aside, the card has your VSB# above your name.
Weird seeing the Esq. after my name on mail.

When did you send your registration stuff in? I'm curious when I'll get mine.

Re: July 2016 Virginia Bar Thread
Hello everybody!
I have a few quick questions/comments and would love feedback!
1) How is everybody doing on your Barbri/Themis assignment ratio so far?
I have completed 50% out of the 52% that has been assigned (not counting my 16 homework assignments)
2) Is anybody else using Adaptibar and if so how how do you like it, do you find it better than Barbri's Studysmart questions?
A) I prefer the Adaptibar MBE questions much more than Barbri's so far, I feel like some of Barbri's totally off the wall
sometimes.
B) In Studysmart and Adaptibar my percent correct seems to be opposite, I do well on Adaptibar but not as well on Barbri's
question sets, anybody else have this issue? (I have one about 1,100 MBE/Studysmart Questions at this point in time !
3) How much time have you devoted to the essays so far? Are you doing more than Barbri tells you to do or just going along with the PSP?
A) I have mostly followed it and done the Adaptibar on the side and some MBE sets in the Emanuel S&T book as well, but I feel
like I am seriously lagging when it comes to essay practice, since there are so many topics to cover!
B) Will probably begin simply reading all the essay answers in the essay book to learn the style/substantive law for the biggest
topics, like Trusts/Will, VA Civ Pro, Federal Civ Pro, etc.
1) Anybody else taking this route?
4) And for the laptop program does it come up left justified on your laptop screen or is that just me?
