That scale 120 from Anon 2 is causing some anxieties... Especially since my midterm was around the same range.

Yeah but final had a significant dip.

I am hoping the upward trend of my BARBRI results will prove to hold true for the MBE

Any Kaplan people here? Hardly anyone seems to have done Kaplan bar prep. Just one more week until Missouri results.

At the moment its mostly WI scores, and Barbri might have been the only bar prep company with a Wisconsin course. I know Themis didn't have one, not sure about Kaplan though.

I used Kaplan. I believe it's the 2nd most popular Bar Prep course in CA, but it's still far behind Barbri. I am actually quite happy that the QBanks final was hard because I felt more prepped (even though the real thing sucked).

Good luck on your final week-long wait!

Anon 2 contacted me directly and was happy to report that He/She passed in WI :)

I'll make it clear in the "chart" that everyone has passed who has reported thus far

Maybe I've blocked it out but what do they mean by "barbri final"? I know the mid term was out of 200 but I thought barbri's other mbe tests (half day and refresher) were out of 100?

Kaplan's "final" included 200 MBE's (100 in AM and 100 in PM). I assumed Barbri's was the same, but if anyone can clarify, I'll reach out to Anon2 to firm up his/her response.

Also, for those interested in a slightly more readable format, I created a google doc compiling reported information for your viewing pleasure: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... edit#gid=0

Let me know if you guys have any issues viewing the link, etc. Suggestions welcome! I'll keep it updated and occasionally re-post so that it's easy to locate :)

I was wondering the same, I assumed they're referring to final as some additional 200 question sets that weren't assigned. But no clue.

Jesus Christ, guy! Planning to start a bar tutoring class after this monumental achievement?

Also, that makes me feel a bit better about my prospects. I was at 144 on the Kaplan Midterm and 135 on the Final. Seems like it can translate, so here's hoping!

Edit: Wait? 173.7? You fucking with me? I think I'm gonna need a PM w/pic of the letter before I can add this to the chart haha. How do you get a .7?????

I have to admit all these high scores both give me hope and terrify me. Hope because maybe I did well too. But I'm terrified that all the high scores are coming first and then the bloodbath will happen, my score included.

I'm curious how you felt coming out of the exam. Did you feel like you got hit by a train like most of us? Feel strong? did you get the long string of Ds in the AM session?

I know this board is just a small sample size, but some of these scores are through the roof. I'm hoping that besides those folks being exceptionally smart, that more than the 10 sample questions that are not graded are thrown out. Because there were some odd questions and answers on the MBE. Hoping that the bar examiners noticed that and tosses them out (not counting them). I heard they do this if a large percentage of people choose the wrong answer, they notice it was problematic, or there is more than one correct answer. I heard every bar they usually toss out an additional 1-3 questions.

I'll shoot you a message with a pic when I white out my name. Guess it had to do with the scale. All my essays and mpts had decimals too. As far as how I felt, I didn't feel that bad after the morning session until I started talking to people after. They all felt terrible about it so I figured I probably just didn't pay close enough attention.

Good luck to the rest of y'all still waiting.

How about with another entry in the chart showing how that person felt walking out of the MBE?

buckythebadger wrote:I'm also one of the lucky ones that got results yesterday from WI. My percentiles varied quite significantly in Barbri's questions. I think I was at the 30% for Torts, and then in the 95% for Civil Procedure with all the others around 65-75% percentile. In the final 2-3 weeks before the exam, I was hitting around 60-75% pretty consistently. I think I had one Barbri mixed set where I hit 40/50, but that was the only score I had like that.

I thought the MBE was significantly harder after leaving the exam room. I thought I had crushed the essay, which gave me enough confidence that I had passed. Like others have posted in the Barbri thread, I had a big stretch of like 12/15 that were D's, which freaked me out a little. I ended up scoring a 171 on the MBE. I guess I was just on my game, with likely some luck involved.
This helpful for me to hear. I had that same line of D's and it worried me.

(I have not gotten my results back yet)

I made up several rules on the essay portion, but did not fail any question, so there is some credence (small sample size) to the BS'ing strategy.
Congratulations! I can tell you're super hyped :) Must feel great, I'll have to learn how to make up rules.
Thanks! Hopefully I'll never have to make it up again :D

EDIT: Read Tanicius' sticky on BS'ing topics - I wish i had found it sooner!

Looks like someone from Themis has reported in (I know someone was interested in hearing from a Themis user).

To just summarize a couple of random thoughts: While this isn't much of a sample size and it'd be nice to have another 50 scores, I think there is some somewhat useful data that is starting to suggest how you performed with your bar course's MBE's translates into how you may have done on the MBE itself. I know a lot of people (myself included) were concerned that how the MBE felt extremely difficult compared to respective bar course's MBE finals. I personally thought Kaplan's final was brutal, but thought the AM section of the MBE was harder than any 100 set I did with Kaplan. However, how you felt about the AM section doesn't seem to indicate that you failed and "success" in the practice MBE's may indicate success on the Bar MBE's. This is also very similar to what I've heard from dozens of people who took the Bar previously. Many walked out feeling like the MBE's kicked their ass, but found their scaled score was approximately 10-15 points greater than their bar review final. Wouldn't that be nice?!?!?! Anyway, just a small bit of light as we wait this crap out. ONLY 72 MORE DAYS UNTIL CBX RESULTS!
