I like this answer. I CAN stay with my sister for ASW but a) I want to meet law students instead of hang out with people I know and b) she'll have a big meet coming up so I couldn't come back drunk.. still, feels weird to stay with a stranger when I don't have to..

I'm srsly considering making like 6 copies of my keys and distributing them to friends in case I get locked out.

I'm coming to Charlottesville for the April 1 Accepted Students Day, but is it advantageous to come a day early and sit in on actual classes as opposed to just seeing the school and a "mock class" with all the other 0Ls?

If so, any recommendations for a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon class (I'm driving from NY one of those mornings)? Thanks!

I'm not sure there's a big advantage, but seeing different professors teach is always nice. Sprigman's Con Law meets on Thursday afternoons.

I figure it would be beneficial to see what a normal day of classes is like as I assume ASW has a different feel to it.

Thanks for pointing out Sprigman's class, although I'm not sure if I can make it for a 2:10 to 3:30 class unless I leave NY at 5 a.m. I feel sleepy already...

The normal classes of the good profs are as engaging as their ASW classes, so unless you want to come down to see a bad prof there isn't much to gain.

Why are people recommending Sprigman? The guy is not a very good professor by most accounts.

Bainbridge has a corps hornbook that's (IMO) only alright, but I'm pretty sure most corporations courses use his casebook so it's going to match up pretty well.

If you're in international law with Setear, I would be shocked if anything you found in a hornbook would help you. Dunno about the others.

C-ville question -- does anybody know of any job openings anywhere? Doesn't have to be law-related.

I recently lost my job (worked for a private employer who ran out of cash after a medical emergency) and am planning to relocate to Charlottesville to gain residency in Virginia before I apply in 2012 (also, my girlfriend lives there, so that's a factor).

I've been stalking Craigslist and have sent out 25 or 30 resumes/cover letters, but I was just wondering if anyone here knew of anything open.

It varies year to year but generally:

Law Review
International (VJIL)
Politics, Social Policy, Tax
Business, Environmental
Technology, Sports/Entertainment

Not sure where Criminal fits in, it's a fairly new journal.

Everyone should go for VJIL because it's so prestigious and a big leg up at OGI.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
