Questions about Opportunities for Transactional vs. Litigation

Post by RedPurpleBlue » Fri Mar 10, 2017 1:57 am

I've done some reading, and it appears as if big law transactional associates have more exit options than litigation associates in regards to getting in-house positions. I am wondering if transactional associates also have opportunities in government, legal non-profits (i.e. not something like Salvation Army), and university counsel offices (which seem to do a lot of litigation). If these options exist, could you give me a few examples? I went through the entire legal employment thread, and I didn't find too many from transactional folks in the areas I discussed above.

Thanks!

EDIT: One of the government agencies I'm particularly interested in is the IRS. Again, thanks!
