I am a 26 year old, first-generation immigrant woman. I did not grow up privileged. I am the first person in my family to go to college and now also the first to pursue a graduate degree. I've been admitted to CLS' Class of 2018 and though I'm incredibly honored, I am also concerned about what lies ahead.
I am curious to hear from other students of color who are currently enrolled at or recently graduated from Columbia. What was your overall experience? Is there an ever-present burden of pressure? Do you feel alienated by the school or your peers in any describable way? Do you feel supported or have a community that has helped you transition into law school?

Re: Columbia Law Students of Color
I hope you've gotten some useful PMs, but if you haven't, you should ask admissions to put you in touch with student leaders. These are issues that students here think a lot about, and they'll be happy to provide some perspective.
