Practicing in San Francisco

Post by Kanye West » Wed Mar 26, 2014 5:40 pm

Curious to hear from any lawyers working in SF, or students aiming to work there. I'd like to know what schools usually place there, and the general amount of bloodshed it would take to make it in SF. My current (and admittedly uneducated) thoughts are that it's run by Stanford/BOALT grads, with slip pickings for Hastings and even less for USF.

I know NYC/DC are the two of the more 'no-ties' friendly cities, and I was curious how SF stacked in that regard as well.

Off Topic - Unless I missed it, is there a thread/forum to ask city/region specific questions? Like best law school trajectory for X city?

No love? How about a simpler question:

Best shot at SF from a non-Cali school?

Better the school + better the ties to SF = better chance of getting a job there.

If you're looking for a retarded simplification, then I can give it a shot. Ideally, go to Stanford or Berkeley. Failing that, top third at T14/USC/UCLA. Failing that, top 10% at Hastings. Failing that, killself. Also, have pre-existing ties

I'll use the pre-existing ties on my noose to hang myself. Thanks for all the responses, buds.
