Would a JD/MBA help with employment after school?

Post by dkang » Tue Apr 17, 2012 11:43 pm

I know the question has been debated many times of its worth in terms of future income, but would it help someone just wanting a good job after school to have a better shot of getting one? Or lets say you go to law school and end up ranking towards the bottom, would that MBA be a good safety net?

As far as schools wise, I'm talking about Emory, UNC, Boston College, etc.

If you're just talking about any employment, then yes it will. You will have opportunities to recruit at both schools, so it will open up opportunities that are not available to a straight JD or straight MBA. Whether it is a financially wise move is another question. You're probably best off just getting the MBA if you're just trying to maximize employment prospects across all jobs.
