Advanced Trial Practice is awesome, and super lenient on grades. I'm pretty sure the lowest grade you can possibly get is an A. Plus Rick is awesome and will do stuff like take you out to dinner.

I had always recommended litigation and the court of public opinion. But I know a couple people on here that didn't work out as well for. But it is zero reading, like one 8 page paper, and if you do a redraft the 2nd draft is like a 2 page paper for a whole extra credit. I think as long as you participate every week it's not too hard to get an A.lhanvt13 wrote:+1Dr. Filth wrote: so now that leg is out, do we have another nu TLS blow off class to take?

Maybe I'm crazy (and also going to be debt laden), but if I was interviewing someone that revealed to me their scholarship I don't think I would view that favorably. I can see you are a well qualified candidate from the rest of your resume. You might spark some envy
Just a thought however baseless it might be

I dunno, man. I doubt that putting "Wigmore Recipient" would get someone dinged. Though I do think that just mentioning 1/2 scholarship or something like that looks idiotic. I know people's bios at my firm have that shit on them, too so I wouldn't be surprised if it's a point of prestige for a firm.Desert Fox wrote:Even more shockingly they are.Icculus wrote:Shockingly, hiring committees and partners are not that petty.zugzwanger wrote:Maybe I'm crazy (and also going to be debt laden), but if I was interviewing someone that revealed to me their scholarship I don't think I would view that favorably. And if I'm being honest with myself I wouldn't ding someone for that, I mean I'm the idiot who managed to pull a 2.79 getting a poli sci degree. Why should I ding someone for doing things like going to class and doing the assigned work.

Oh I thought we were only talking about puting half scholarship or whatever I agree that wigmore is fine.Icculus wrote:I dunno, man. I doubt that putting "Wigmore Recipient" would get someone dinged. How about a non-wigmore, non-full scholarship that has a name?
My 20k/yr apparently has a name, which I only found out about when I got that email asking me to write my yearly thank-you-for-the-money letter to a donor.

FWIW when my CSO was going over my resume last year the first thing she told me was to add scholly info. I think for 1Ls you should definitely leave it on for your December 1 massmailings. They don't have any law school grades when they get your resume and I think the scholly can help fill that information gap a little.zugzwanger wrote:Maybe I'm crazy (and also going to be debt laden), but if I was interviewing someone that revealed to me their scholarship I don't think I would view that favorably. I took it off my resume for OCI though because I think after you have law school grades it serves no purpose.
ETA: but I agree I would leave wigmore on there for OCI.
Also, CSO recommended calling it a merit scholarship so employers would be more inclined to think it would be predictive of 1L grades.

I would think any named scholly is fine. But writing like "25% merit scholarship" with no name seems odd to me and I personally wouldn't do it.rinkrat19 wrote:How about a non-wigmore, non-full scholarship that has a name?

edit: The reason being the named scholarship usually has some requirements/historical significance so I could see it being at the very least a resume talking point.

Listing named scholarship information is fine - some law firms even include scholarship information in their associate bios (non-Hamilton/Ruby/Levy/Wigmore/etc ones too). Don't think about it too much - it's just one line on the resume that people gloss over while looking for dat GPA.

More people need to bid on High Tech Trial Techniques because I think it sounds cool and I don't want it to be canceled for lack of enrollment. Come on, 2 credits to learn how to use computers in the courtroom and shit.

From the photos I've seen, it's like Google took over the set of To Kill a Mockingbird. Historic courthouse with a basketball court and a climbing wall in a common area.bjsesq wrote:Please the Bartlit Beck people are THE SHIT and it is an easy A.
