Oh, no, I know it's actually really good. I'm on pace to spend about the same, if not more with supps (no idea what those run). It's just frustrating that it costs so much.Lavitz wrote:Considering the yearly budget for books and supplies is $1100, I'd say that's on target. Can probably get a decent chunk back by selling them to 1Ls next year too. And I definitely spent more than that in UG.toothbrush wrote:Considering I spent less than that for 7 semesters of UG, ouch.

That was my reaction to reading the syllabi. Oh shit, looks like I need to buy books now.Lavitz wrote:
Yeah, but I felt that was cutting it close with 3 reading assignments for Wednesday, so I ordered a few new from the store and the rest used from Kraftees.

Not sure of your section, but my three assignments are mostly something along the lines of reading the preface and/or one case or intro. Not too much to sweat about. I think you can wait til Monday if you want..guinness1547 wrote:That was my reaction to reading the syllabi. Oh shit, looks like I need to buy books now.Lavitz wrote:

Yes, if you have BHS, be prepared for a cold call day 1. She is a master at cold-calling. Can't imagine having her first semester 1L year.Lavitz wrote:Says the guy who doesn't have Holden-Smith.toothbrush wrote:Not sure of your section, but my three assignments are mostly something along the lines of reading the preface and/or one case or intro. Clermont cold called the people who didn't register their i-clickers sometime in the first week or so. But I don't think he actually expected much of a response out of them -- more like he wanted to say, register your clicker.

By the way, these class of threads usually die off after orientation, and the Cornell-specific conversations shift to the taking questions thread.
If that happens, anyone who wants to continue talking about 1L-specific stuff on TLS can join me and toothbrush in the 1L thread.

Not only that, but she just cancelled 6 classes on Blackboard and the makeups are Monday nights and a couple of Fridays.spiritniffler189 wrote:Yes, if you have BHS, be prepared for a cold call day 1. She is a master at cold-calling. Can't imagine having her first semester 1L year.

I wonder if she's randomly heading off to India again. FWIW, she's extremely nice in office hours and outside of class.Lavitz wrote:Not only that, but she just cancelled 6 classes on Blackboard and the makeups are Monday nights and a couple of Fridays.spiritniffler189 wrote:Yes, if you have BHS, be prepared for a cold call day 1. The classes aren't consecutive though. They're scattered throughout the semester.ImNoScar wrote:I wonder if she's randomly heading off to India again. And yeah, that's what I read on clsevals, which the rest of my section mysteriously can't sign up for.

For those of us not living in hughes, locker info is up. It wasn't working for me the other day, but I guess it's all set now.

My favorite people are the ones that say they are buying ISBNs instead of listing titles.guinness1547 wrote:Guys. GUYS. Got this cool resource for books. You get a better price buying AND selling by doing a direct deal within the school. #Efficiency.guinness1547 wrote:Guys. GUYS. Got this cool resource for books.
