Hey everyone, nice to meet you all. I just got a call from an admissions rep telling me that I was admitted and to expect a packet in the mail. Good news. I had my heart set on Michigan State but am now leaning towards USF (I live in Los Angeles currently). I'm planning a trip up to the Bay Area for the March 24th Spring Reception. Is anyone else attending???

hey there, congrats. I cant come to this 3/24 thing but will be there in April. Im all the way on the East Coast. Lemme know what you think after the visit. Thanks!

Yep! They did a nice job. You could choose 1 of 3 mock classes (I went to Property -- the prof was great), then 1 of 3 panels on various topics, and another round of 1 of 3 panels. The student panel was great -- very frank and helpful. We had a lunch/reception with current students who were all very enthusiastic about their experience at USF. Those I spoke with all had impressive summer plans already lined up. Also, the facilities are gorgeous.

Mine still just shows "application file complete". Is that all it should say until a decision is rendered, or should it say something along the lines of "In Committee"?

The Current status update was updated to today's date but still just says application complete. Not sure if this means anything important.

Accepted to the part-time program about three weeks ago. Have to make my seat deposit by Monday.

still nothing...my application has been complete since 02/28...
why its taking forever?...does this imply that I am neither accepted nor wait-listed?

The school is so nice. The city is perfect. Put down my deposit already. Too bad Im interntational , they cant give any money

Does anyone know if they offer scholarships during 2L/3L? I'm on the waitlist so I'm assuming they won't offer any $ for 1L if I end up getting in. I'm patiently waiting to see if they will be using their waitlist this cycle... *crosses fingers*

I called the admissions office and asked about this. I'm sure they will be receptive to talking about it if you give them a call. The basic answer was, yes, they do offer some 2L and 3L scholarships. The top 5% of the class receive significant aid to entice them to stay at the school. There are also stipends given out to people who take leadership positions in various groups, law journals, moot court programs, etc. These people are assessed to be school leaders and are making the school look good by leading these different programs. I'd give 'em a call to ask, there are lots of fancy names and endowed scholarships etc. that I don't have full details on.

I applied late but I absolutely need a decisions by Mid May! is that possible?

Also, my 2nd email is also firstinitiallastname@usfca.edu, does that mean anything? Probably not.
I have a good GPA but LOW LSAT score... so it's iffy :/
