I was accepted in Fall 2010, but I've deferred a year... so yeah, here I am.
Starting this thread because I'm extremely excited to be going next year, and I am rather jealous of all those starting at Virginia Law today
I can't wait to meet my new classmates!

Hmmm... this time last year we were having a lot more activity in here. Are there just not many people on TLS applying ED this time around?

If current national trends hold, the law school applicant pool overall should be smaller than before.
EDIT: And right now, it's only deferred students who know that they're in the Class of 2015.
Is the process different this year? I applied ED last year and got my acceptance on 9/7.

I've applied ED. I read through last year's thread before applying (been lurking for a little while now) and I've definitely noticed that the U.Va applicant-related threads here and the graphs at LSN have been relatively quiet. It's somewhat of a relief to hear that things are generally going a little slower, and it's not just my app. With any luck, I'll be starting 1L with you next fall, Xaintes.

Found out this evening I'll be joining the U.Va class of '15! Sept. 1 ED fwiw. Thanks to all who have posted about U.Va over the last few years, the info has been invaluable and definitely was a major factor in my decision to ED. Can't wait to get to Charlottesville next fall....

Does anyone know is UVA traditionally does ASW events and when those are held? I'm in (I think), but I'm RD so I'd like to go check the school out, get a feel for the student body, etc. Wondering if they are going to have organized stuff anytime this fall or if I'm better of just scheduling something on my own. I hate to be a PITA when they are busily trying to get decisions to everyone waiting, especially if I could just cool my jets for a little bit, get the same result, and not have to add work unnecessarily to someone's plate.

Just got in a couple of hours ago! I have to say, I just completely lost it after Cordel Faulk said "congratulations" over the phone. I don't remember a single thing he said after that. Looking forward to seeing you guys next fall!
If anyone's planning on visiting, please post when you're visiting. I'd definitely like to visit the campus soon, and meeting some future classmates would be nice.

I live about 2.5 hours away from Charlottesville, so I've been thinking of planning a trip down some weekend this fall. I've only been down there once before but it was the middle of the summer so there wasn't anyone there really.

Stopping in to say hello to my future classmates! Just got in today via a phone call from Jason Dugas. Applied ED, out of state, non-URM.
I'm greatly looking forward to meeting all of you next year!

This is way to early to even be considering, but it could be a good place to start discussion. Has anyone considered housing options yet? Xaintes- I've imagined you've been through the whole process already, any advice on a housing timeline? I'm definitely going to try and get down to Charlottesville one weekend this fall.

I'll be headed back to Charlottesville too! ---Heard from the admissions office this morning.
As for housing, I'm not worried about it for the time being, but I recall that students tend to sign leases crazy early - October, for most people! So, probably worth taking a look at in the coming weeks.
If any of y'all have any questions about Charlottesville, I went to undergrad at virginia, so I'll answer any questions I can.
Best ---
