Re: IUB class of 2015
Hey guys,
I'm a deferral from last year who is looking for a couple roommates. Ideally I would like to live closer to the school and would prioritize that over size and other amenities. I have not had a chance to look at apartments yet. If any of you are still looking for roommates let me know. Maybe we could met up in Bloomington some weekend soon and look for a place.

Just found out I was admitted! Right now Indiana would be my top choice. Still waiting to hear back from some stretches.

Just registered for Spring Law Day! Do we have a facebook group yet?
I still haven't heard back about my scholly appeal - will call on Friday if I don't hear anything. I would really like to accept/get on the Summer Start list before SLD because I know a lot of people will be accepting that day.
Anyone else signed up?

You'll be fine, I don't think the program has filled up the last couple of years. BTW thanks for jinxing that hawkeyes/hoosiers game. By far the worst part of my trip ya jerk.

Just got a travel stipend. I'm considering visiting now that I don't need to waste a whole day driving.

Ha, sorry. I have faith the hawks will pull it out. My loyalties will have to be split by sport... at least they're good at different things.mrmojojak wrote:You'll be fine, I don't think the program has filled up the last couple of years. Done. Now I'll have to get real names at some point. I'm sure someone will scoop me by SLD anyway...TommyK wrote:Not that I know of. Sounds like you just volunteered to create one though!iowalum wrote:Just registered for Spring Law Day! Do we have a facebook group yet?

Disregard this. Apparently there is already a group (in the email I got), but I couldn't find it. I deleted mine (fail). https://www.facebook.com/groups/194786573961612/ link to the real one

Yeah I just saw that in the e-mail as well. Oh well, as long as somebody made one.

Sooo Tommy can you give me the lowdown on dress code for SLD? Was the vibe last year more casual (jeans, etc.) or full-on business casual like the invite says?

Full gamut. Not many jeans. I saw some polos/khakis. Some dress shirts/black pants. And then there was one guy in a full suit and tie who brought his parents that asked questions during the morning session (poor fella').iowalum wrote:Sooo Tommy can you give me the lowdown on dress code for SLD? The ladyfolk were in skirts and a nice top, or dress pants and a nice top, and a couple that were in suits. But honestly, for women, I have a really bad barometer for what is business casual and what is business professional and what is clubwear, because I feel like the line separating the three is so damn thin.
I think I worse a dress shirt and a sports jacket, no tie (rocking the Ahmedinejad look) but only because it was cold that day and wanted to be prepared for temperature changes in rooms... and I felt overdressed.
TL;DR: The female equivalent to dress shirt and dress pants (which may actually be... a dress shirt and dress pants).

Re: IUB class of 2015
Good to know. I'm still thinking dark jeans and a blazer because I want to be comfortable, but I might consider going a little dressier. Definitely no suit... I guess it's really not that important, they aren't going to un-accept me because they don't like my outfit.TommyK wrote:Full gamut. Not many jeans. I saw some polos/khakis. MORE important is still not hearing back from Compton about my scholly... ugh. I was hoping to get everything settled and official before SLD but that might not happen.

Re: IUB class of 2015
Hey, I am also looking for a roommate/roommates! I'm more than likely doing the summer start, so anyone looking to do that as well would be great.
I'm planning on attending SLD as well, and I was hoping to start looking for apartments and housing while I'm there. Has anyone started looking into housing in Bloomington already? If so, any tips or suggestions?

Re: IUB class of 2015
I'm coming up for SLD so I've been trying to set up some appointments to look at housing on the following Monday (3/26). If anyone looking for a roommate is interested in taking a look at these places with me, please let me know. I have two dogs, so my housing priorities are dog-friendly and being within a couple miles of campus. I'm looking at places that run about 800 - 1200 for 2 to 3 bedrooms (so about $400) a person. Also, I'm hoping to move up in the beginning of August and I'm female, if that's makes a difference to anyone.

I'm a male looking to start in July. Although people also starting in July doesn't really matter as I can always sublet a place for a month and then move in somewhere else in August. I posted in the facebook group as well. Not sure yet if I will be at SLD.

Where are they putting up everybody? If I come, I figure I'd like to stay in the same hotel.
