It also went on my transcript I just saw. But magna/cum also aren't listed. Maybe they're doing it bit by bit?

coif went up sometime between noon and now today, but no cum / magna listed. no idea what games nyu is playing today.

Got coif. Just under 3.84. Don't think I was on the edge, but figure I would leave it here for future people.

Also for the benefit of future years - got coif with just under a 3.81. Most years I wouldn’t think I was an edge case - but given how much of a bump there was this year, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Unless someone here can post a coif with a sub 3.8 my highly speculative guess is coif/magna was probably just above 3.8.

I think I'm the cutoff for future years' reference: 3.781 with Coif.

So it's really gonna take them days longer to calculate cum laude/magna after coif is already up 🫠🫠

In past years the cutoff for magna has been a few hundredths of a point higher than coif, due to transfer students coming in with good 1L grades (or maybe due to transfer students not counting 1L grades at all, which means fewer curved doctrinal classes) right? Given that nylawboi got coif with 3.766 it's hart to imagine the cutoff for magna being much higher than like 3.78 tops, but it would be nice to have it official for update clerkship applications etc!

No surprise at this point, but official emails from the registrar went out about coif this morning. Still nothing re Latin honors.

That was me - I haven’t gotten a response. I assumed on Friday that it was because they were preparing to upload them, and wanted to wait before responding. Now I’m less sure. Anyone brave enough to try calling them?


(In NYU’s defense, I emailed Academic Services email when I probably should have emailed the Records and Registration one. It’s the same office, but it might have resulted in a delay getting my email to the right person ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Honors are out. FYI 3.667 was enough for cum laude

3.71 enough for cum laude but not magna as expected

As a follow up, this 3.766 was enough for magna/coif. Again, I was probably very close to the cutoff given past years.

It's about that time of year again, so figure I'd ask: Anyone who's still on this thread get any word on provisional coif? Assuming given a) the slightly higher floor for Allen this past summer and b) the fact that they only tell the top 6%, that last year's provisional floor of about 3.82 might be around where the 6% cutoff is this year (or maybe even a hair higher)?
