typos in Cover letter

Post by Aequitas_ » Wed Jul 22, 2015 10:58 am

So OCI is coming around and I noticed two small typos within my cover letter after I turned it in. I got the interview, but I'm worried that because of this mistake, this is an auto ding anyway.

well they probably didn't notice it, it's definitely not an auto ding, and worrying about it now is pointless because you can't change it. just go in prepared to crush the interview and you should do fine.

A firm will probably never ding a very strong candidate for a typo, but it certainly doesn't make you look good. It also really depends who sees it and how crazy they are, but I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I made a minor typo after I got a pre-screened interview; I owned up to it and the recruiter swapped out the old cover letter and said it wasn't a problem. (Firm is V20, my GPA is top 20% at T10 law school).
