Commercial Paper Question
Someone explain the basics of transfer warranties v. presentment warranties (and indorsement liability generally, if you've got the time) as if you were explaining it to your mother.

Re: Commercial Paper Question

I think I (sort of) figured out this question, but is anyone else in here in commercial paper, payment systems, commercial law, secured transactions, etc. (i.e., learning about UCC 3, 4, and 9, credit cards, debit cards, checking systems, secured debt, etc.)? This is some of the worst stuff I've ever gone through in 3 years of law school.

Re: Commercial Paper Question
Its a popular class at our school called "Commercial Law." I think it's a combo of Secured Transactions and Payment Systems/Commercial Paper. So awful, but supposedly good for the bar.rad lulz wrote:I think you're the only person I know who has taken commercial paper

Re: Commercial Paper Question
IDK about that, commercial paper questions on the bar tend to be really simple, and probably unlikely that there'd be an entire question based on the subject (more like its just 1 issue in an overall exam question)--I didn't run into any of them when I took the bar.romothesavior wrote:So awful, but supposedly good for the bar.
Warranties and liabilities on indorsement are a huge cesspool of who did what, when, and what was the chain of ownership/possession/title of the negotiable instrument. It probably helps if you don't think of them as a contract.

Re: Commercial Paper Question
A user from GWU posted a pretty good Commercial Paper outline. I used it and ended up getting an A when I took the class.

Re: Commercial Paper Question
PM if you want an outline covering this, my professor spoon fed us this stuff at the very end of the semester. I can feel your pain I also took secured transactions and commercial law (combo of sales and payment systems) in the same semester.
