A guy in my crim class had pre-written answers that were apparently on all fours with the exam - scored an A+zworykin wrote:Pre-written answers. Grumble grumble... I had two closed/closed exams, and the one that was open book/open notes was Crim, which doesn't lend itself to pre-written answers in the slightest. Anything I wanted to pre-write, I still had to memorize anyway.

Yea, I've heard horror stories from his seminar classes where they have to write multiple essays during the term and get them back with lots of insane grammar comments.Bronck wrote: Which prof? Crim?

Oh god. Fortunately I write OK grammar on the fly, but damn, that's annoying. We should refrain from informing many people IRL lolshumpshump wrote:Yea, I've heard horror stories from his seminar classes where they have to write multiple essays during the term and get them back with lots of insane grammar comments.Bronck wrote: Which prof? If anyone wants to see some of my pre-written stuff (from civ pro, got an A-), just PM me. That way everyone doesn't have to annoy IGF haha.

Re: OFFICIAL 1L Exam Prep & Motivation Thread (CSWS)
I had a professor last semester who cared about spelling and grammar. We use Examsoft, and luckily at the last minute the professor decided to turn on the spellcheck feature in it, which helped a lot haha.shumpshump wrote:One of my profs this term is a huge stickler for grammar and shit but it's a 3.5 hour race horse exam. People get fucked apparently by his grammar criticisms so it's a perfect exam for prewriting and thoroughly editing the prewrite.stillwater wrote:I can see it serving coherence though. At times during my exam I felt like I was a lab monkey on crystal meth slapping on the keyboard, not knowing if what I was saying was even remotely coherent typographically or doctrinally.InGoodFaith wrote:Yeah, it took some "fitting," but I'm sure it saved me time anyway.stillwater wrote: the only thing i fear with his method is dropping in boilerplate passages that pretty much fit but may be better if specifically written in response to the exam. this may be unrealistic but i usually default to lazy.

That's such a dumb thing to care about. Don't have issue spotter, racehorse exams if you want gilded prose. I had an extremely word limited exam (3hrs you could finish in 1.5 with lots of reflection) and he didn't even care about grammar/spelling.SportsFan wrote: I had a professor last semester who cared about spelling and grammar. Well, luckily it wasn't a standard racehorse issue spotter (it was torts, and the professor was all about policy so I barely mentioned any law), but yeah, a typical law school exam doesn't really lend itself well to spelling and grammar.stillwater wrote:That's such a dumb thing to care about. No problem gaud.
Ugh, one of my professors mentioned a word limit last week and I was like "noooooo!" My whole strategy last semester was to just throw every single thing I had at the wall.

lol wtf? I love people like this.stillwater wrote:My torts exam had a word limit- totally attainable (maybe 2500 words for 2 hours? the other hour was MC)- and I was shocked most people didn't even approach it. I slammed into it with like 15 minutes to go. Some people just don't get it. One girl bounced with like 1.5 left and was handwriting her exam.InGoodFaith wrote:No problem gaud.
