This is possibly appropriate if you're their outgoing clerk. Definitely not if you're their extern. Any chance of that judge ever hiring you, or even saying especially nice things about you to other judges in the future, would likely go out the window. I'm gifting the clerks (I'm an extern); they've been tremendously helpful with my clerkship applications and we've hung out a great deal. But that's entirely different (and actually kind of unusual - the typical intern/clerk relationship would normally only merit something very perfunctory, like bringing in cookies on the last day).
