I mean, good for you and all, but if you're doing 70 hrs/week of work for law school you either have no life or are wildly inefficient at work.mephistopheles wrote:
well, if landing a 1L market paying SA is doing it wrong, i don't want to be right.
First semester I overworked myself at probably 50-60 hours per week. This semester maybe 30 lol.Flips88 wrote:I mean, good for you and all, but if you're doing 70 hrs/week of work for law school you either have no life or are wildly inefficient at work.mephistopheles wrote:

Managed 1L market SA and wish I worked way less last semester. I think it's something many people do, though... it's hard not to do too much when you're trying to figure things out.
Or 3) sacrificing less than a year of your life to try and increase the odds of employment outcomes.Flips88 wrote:I mean, good for you and all, but if you're doing 70 hrs/week of work for law school you either have no life or are wildly inefficient at work.mephistopheles wrote:

on a side note, do people gun for clerkships during 1l summer or is that unheard of / less preftigious than 1l sa
following up. for those who are planning to app for clerkship after graduating is the "best" resume 1L clerkship 2L SA ? Just confused because people seem to mention 1L SA often on TLS but then I know the value of clerking for a year or two after graduating as well (arguably that's better than going right into big law..)mephistopheles wrote:to each his own. i know a 1L with a fed CoA "internship" that will look great for 2L summer and later clerkship appstoothbrush wrote:tag train

I doubt that working that hard during the semester has an appreciable affect on grades. So while they may be "trying," it's a waste more than anything. That said, I am sure there are a rare few who actually benefit from going full retard on the amount of hours one puts in during the semester.Richie Tenenbaum wrote:Or 3) sacrificing less than a year of your life to try and increase the odds of employment outcomes.Flips88 wrote:I mean, good for you and all, but if you're doing 70 hrs/week of work for law school you either have no life or are wildly inefficient at work.mephistopheles wrote:
