My professor apparently lives in a fantasy land where the Rule of Convenience doesn't exist. Every study aid I will ever use, every hypo/practice question I will ever take, will apply the Rule of Convenience to Class Gift questions. I know that you are supposed to do what the professor wants, but this seems a little extreme doesn't it?

You've asked your prof and s/he has straight out said no Rule of Convenience?
