Didn't see this when I used the search box (feel free to point me to it if it exists), so I figured I would start one.

It's looking very promising for Vandy!

The first one, March 25th I think. I'm going to try to make it to the Predators game.

Yea, I did. The amount Vandy gives me is going to be a big factor, considering UT gave me close to 80k. I'm thinking the later ASW, or maybe an individual visit...akili wrote:It's looking very promising for Vandy!

I'm looking at the April 8 one too. The March one is on top of UTs and I really need to go to the UT ASW to see if it could be a fit.
It seems like last year Vandy threw money everywhere so hopefully they do it again this year to maintain their medians?

Barring any waitlist acceptances, I'll be at Vandy in the fall! As of now, planning on going to the ASW in April.

Got my package. Dang, people were NOT kidding. This is by far the coolest acceptance package I have received. Even a sticker for my car! It's going to take me weeks to read this!
I'm really sold on Vandy right now. If they offer me the scholarship that went to people with my numbers last year...I can safely say I'll be going there next year.

Re: Vanderbilt Class of 2014
Just got my acceptance package in the mail. I'm really excited, but I'm really anticipating scholarship info. I got 106k from GW, which is in a great location for me as far as opportunities and distance from home, but at the same time even if I got a lot less from Vandy I would have a tough decision. From what I can tell, even though UCLA and Texas are ahead of Vandy in the rankings, Vandy is often considered just a nose behind the T14 in reputation and degree portability. On LSN, some others with a 167 and around a 4.0 got 72k, though others either didn't or didn't indicate it. Anyone have any idea what my chances are for that scholarship? If am lucky enough to get to face that dilemma, what should I do?
Also, I know Nashville is the country music capital of the world, and I am just incredibly NOT into country. I have a hunch though that when I visit I'll find that it is a center for music and culture of all kinds. Anyone have any insight? Can a fan of progressive, indie, and reggae stay sane there? I guess Bonnaroo would be a short drive if I could get that weekend off in the summer...

So has anyone looked at housing stuff in depth yet? The Grove at Richland/Whitworth, Twenty & Grand, and Americana all look intriguing.

Re: Vanderbilt Class of 2014
I am debating between the Americana and the grove. The grove is a bit expensive and I will not be bringing my car plus, I was looking at Barbizon too because I am not sure about having a 12 month lease....although if I stay for the summer it may be nice...what are you guys thinking? any advice?

Haven't looked at housing options in depth as of yet, but The Grove looks pretty good from what I can tell...planning on taking a closer look next moth during the ASW.
I've been trying to decide on living alone vs. with a roommate or two. Any thoughts on this?

I don't have any useful thoughts, but I'm trying to figure it out as well. I have the complication of a dog though so if I lived with someone they would have to put up with his cute little face all the time.TheFactor wrote:Haven't looked at housing options in depth as of yet, but The Grove looks pretty good from what I can tell...planning on taking a closer look next moth during the ASW.
