Duke Law Class of 2014
Since no one made a thread yet for Duke Law Class of 2014 (entering Summer or Fall of 2011), I figured I'd get this party started!
I know there are a number of people like myself who were placed on priority reserve last cycle who received the offer of early decision for this coming year. I am one of those fortunate souls, and am thrilled to be joining up with you all next year.
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in our class, and figure why bother waiting a full year. So, anyone else out there who has been lurking on TLS like me who wants to say hello, feel free to introduce yourself on this thread. Feel free to PM me, too.
Good luck to everyone else applying this cycle. Let's get the conversation started!

Re: Duke University School of Law Class of 2014
I submitted on Sept 2, went complete on the 7th, and have probably checked the status checker no less than 25 times in the past few days. I HATE not knowing! I should mention that I am priority track so I will likely hear in the next week or so.

I love the priority track system that Duke admissions employs. It is great to get a response back within that 10 day period. It's not as though the other schools that take a few months are constantly pulling your file up on a daily basis and deliberating.
Good luck on your admissions cycle. Hope to see you back in a few days with an acceptance in hand!

God I hope so. I'm waiting for another LOR to come in (which might be a while longer), but I'm most likely gonna ED to Duke. We'll see how it goes (170/3.4)- but I hope to see you all in Durham next year!

I'm also in through last cycle's priority track. loving the fact I get to chill this year and not worry about LSAT/Apps/Waiting hell, etc.
To you guys applying, good luck! and to those already in, congrats!

I love it too! I got the "You're in!" email on Thursday at 6pm. I play volleyball and jump pretty well as it is, but I'm pretty sure I have never jumped as high as I did after reading that email.

A pirate walks into a bar, barkeep looks at him and sees he has a steering wheel attached to his groin, he asks him "Hey what is the steering wheel for?" Pirate answers: "Its drivin me nuts yarrrrr".. Just remembered this one when I read the above post.

I like how the pirate detail only serves as an excuse to insert 'yarrrr' in the punchline.nullisecundus wrote:A pirate walks into a bar, barkeep looks at him and sees he has a steering wheel attached to his groin, he asks him "Hey what is the steering wheel for?" I received my e-mail from Duke today, "priority waitlisted" whatever that means. Honestly I'm a little shocked I didn't get right in. Oh well, here's to hoping Michigan and Columbia admissions don't feel the same way about my app as Duke did.

I hadn't even noticed originally, but that detail seriously made me laugh out loud.sundance95 wrote:I like how the pirate detail only serves as an excuse to insert 'yarrrr' in the punchline.nullisecundus wrote:A pirate walks into a bar, barkeep looks at him and sees he has a steering wheel attached to his groin, he asks him "Hey what is the steering wheel for?" Besides pirate isnt only for yarr there, its also for saying "me" instead of "my".sundance95 wrote:I like how the pirate detail only serves as an excuse to insert 'yarrrr' in the punchline.nullisecundus wrote:A pirate walks into a bar, barkeep looks at him and sees he has a steering wheel attached to his groin, he asks him "Hey what is the steering wheel for?" I didn't, though now I wish I had obviously. I'm wondering if I should write one and send it in as supplemental, I suppose it couldn't hurt.Sentry wrote:That's discouraging seeing as we're numbers twins.
