I hardly met anyone since I had to leave so early on Friday, but I definitely enjoyed the time I spent. I was impressed by the law school building and the campus in general. Students seemed normal enough to me

I found that sometimes, I was talking to a current student, and another current student would walk over, start a convo, and leave me just sitting there. It was super-weird. Other than that they were pretty nice.Ghost wrote:I did too. Current Students were WAY more sociable and easy to talk to so I hung around them. I was really impressed by Chicago's ASW. Most of the current students I met were awesome and I also hit it off with a few admits...although I guess we didn't really branch out that much after a while.
I have no idea whether anyone I met was on TLS or not. That said, I think my heart has always been set on NYU, so it looks like I'm going to have to peace out of this thread. Good luck next year, everyone!

I had no idea how to approach the are you on TLS question to other admits. I figured after seeing my name tag they'd be like "oh, you're on TLS" but that never happened, so I guess I didn't meet anyone from TLS, which blows my mind.

I don't think the words "Are you on TLS?" will ever come out of my mouth IRL.

Someone's (who shall remain nameless) first or second question to me was if I was on TLS.Dany wrote:I don't think the words "Are you on TLS?" will ever come out of my mouth IRL.

I wouldn't say it either, but at Penn's ASW it actually came up in conversation. I also didn't meet too many admits, tbh.trudat15 wrote:Someone's (who shall remain nameless) first or second question to me was if I was on TLS.Dany wrote:I don't think the words "Are you on TLS?" will ever come out of my mouth IRL.

Just think of the biggest weirdo you saw at ASW....more than likely that was me.

Re: Chicago Class of 2014
Didn't really see any really weird people. It's easy to come off as weird in situations like ASW. There were so many times that I had two paths to take 1) the socially awkward weird path or 2) the sociable path. For the most part I took option 2, but sometimes I really wanted to be that weird guy sitting alone in the corner people watching.

Re: Chicago Class of 2014
I think of lot of that may have to do w/the current students already having friends and being secure in their social environment. I like to think that most weirdness was due to the weirdness of ASW. I know that's what I'm blaming mine on, or at least my social ineptitude. I totally own up to my nerd-weirdness.Ghost wrote:ExpectLess wrote:Ahem.Ghost wrote:

I should have prefaced this with most of the TLSer's being chill. There were other admits that would walk up as I was talking to a Faculty member and interrupt the conversation to discuss the weather or some other insipid bullshit. Social skills bro.
I didn't find too many of the admits to be weird/socially inept, but that could be due to my general predisposition to like most people. I can deal with poor social skills/weirdness, but if someone is actively mean to other people/racist/tells me my dogs are ugly, then I feel free to get my hate on.
Rbarcelo, I'm positive I did not meet you.
Munich, stop frontin'. You know you're not weird.
