Yup, I am. There have to be others lurking . . . 1 day from the app deadline!

I decided to send one their way the last couple of days as well. They say they receive about 200 apps a year, so there have to be more of us.

Anyone get a confirmation that their materials have been received and complete?

What are they even looking for? I have tippy top grades at a T10, but other than that i'm really very average. Hoping they give me a shot, but it just seems like such a crapshoot.

Also, I just went to add my LOR to Yale on LSAC and it won't let me add a term. It says that there are not active terms or programs for this school. What am I doing wrong? I'd rather not call the admissions office and make it clear that I am incapable of performing simple tasks.

I have no idea- I'm having the same problem. I'd call LSAC instead of Yale first and ask them what to do (and then let us knowTheGoat18 wrote:Also, I just went to add my LOR to Yale on LSAC and it won't let me add a term. re: your first question- Yale's website just says that they're looking for great grades and very strong letters of recommendation. The GPAs on their 509 hover right around a 4.0. It seems like they make decisions pretty quickly - some years the Friday after the 4th, so I can't imagine how it could be a very holistic review, given that they may not even be receiving LSAC reports the week of the 4th! But who knows . . .

Lol just called them and they said to contact Yale. At this point I should just had my recommenders mail their letters separately.

From my experience, I had to wait until Yale requested an LSAC report. Once they did, I received an email saying I have to pay for the report to be sent. I logged onto LSAC, scrolled to the bottom, followed the instructions to make payment, and through following the instructions it allowed me to add my recommendation letters.
Very odd process.

Yale reaches out to LSAC for your stuff. You have to mail in your application and then they ask LSAC for your recs and transcripts. It was MAD confusing to figure out.

Re: Yale Transfer Thread 2016 (C/O 2018)
I have a bunch of questions. How long after submitting your app did you receive a request from LSAC for payment? Did you guys email a copy of your app to Yale? And how long does LSAC take to ship your stuff to Yale?
I'm wondering how it's possible for Yale to release decisions the Monday after the 4th (as they did last year) when they won't review our apps until LORs are in, and LSAC takes 24 to 48 hours to send the electronic CAS report to the requesting school. Yale would receive the report Tuesday or Wednesday earliest, even if they requested from LSAC today.
Feeling like it was a bad decision to send the app in so late, though I know Yale doesn't do rolling admissions for transfers...

I threw my hat into the ring. Academics are okay, enough, to at least not be an auto-reject (top 10%, a CALI), and I think my letters of recommendation are going to be really great, but who knows? It was really weird writing a 250 again, I tell you what.

I fedex'd my app and LSAC was requested the next day. I did not email an app, and in fact have never received an email response from their office.Xrt313 wrote:I have a bunch of questions. LSAC sent out the materials within 48 hours, though they send it through the mail, so it takes a few days to arrive. (my understanding is that initial CAS reports are always done this way? Could be wrong)
As to decision dates, their website says second or third week in July, so I'm not holding my breath for any news next week.

Um so when I went to the post office yesterday to overnight my application I realized I didn't have my checkbook and just attached $75 in cash labeled as application fee. I realize this may make me an idiot. Does this make me an idiot?

Spoke to someone at LSAC, and confirmed that LSAC takes 24 to 48 hours to send the CAS report. Yale requests paper, not electronic, reports, which will take another couple of days to get there. So since Monday is a holiday, it looks like Yale should have everything by Thursday or Friday next week, for those whose applications Yale received today.

Did everyone's current school let them know when they sent the Dean's Certification to YLS?

Mine didn't, but you can probably verify they were sent by following up with the office staff.Minnietron wrote:Did everyone's current school let them know when they sent the Dean's Certification to YLS?

Haven't heard anything, and I know they received my application Friday. Should I follow up on Tuesday or just wait for them?

So I still haven't heard anything. I called the admissions office today and they told me that my application is being processed, but I haven't received a CAS request or anything. I was able to assign my LOR to my application today after being unable to do so, but that is about it. Hell i'm not even sure if my undergrad ever got around to sending my Dean's Certification despite a barrage of calls and emails. Is there some sort of confirmation email that I just have been missing?

Re: Yale Transfer Thread 2016 (C/O 2018)
I am in the same predicament as you. Any mail you send to them via USPS, even via overnight service, goes to Yale Campus Mail (not sure about FedEx/UPS). Because the address they give on the application doesn't specify a box number, the FAQ on the YCM page says that it can take "several days" for the mail to get delivered to the proper department/building. Yale needs to disclose this whole inefficient processing system on the application so people know to send them in at least a week before (or avoid USPS), even if they are sending via overnight mail. I sent my app in middle of last week and it still hasn't arrived.TheGoat18 wrote:So I still haven't heard anything.
