Letter of Good Standing

Post by Anonymous User » Sun Jun 14, 2015 12:54 pm

How long does it typically take a school to get this out to the places you apply to? I asked a while back and my school said were working on it. No word on if it has been sent or not. My prospective schools still do not have a record of receiving any of them either.

For me it took literally three days, but it took them over a week to send another document. It will obviously vary from school to school and even within the same school.

Mine took 10 days from request to delivery at target school. Some of that time preceded calculation of class rank, so they wouldn't have sent it then anyway.

I think it depends on your current law school. Some seem to (intentionally) take forever. Mine was surprisingly helpful and sent them the same day I requested. Ask your law school to send you a confirmation when they have sent the letter.

I requested all the letters of good standing to be sent out on June 9 and they're just being sent out today. My school has a notorious mass exodus of transfers every year and I suspect they really put sending letters of good standing at the bottom of their list of priorities.
