T5%, T20-30, I don't know what to do!

Hello! I am one of many looking to my peers for advice. I am in the top 5% of my class at a T20-30 in the Midwest. I have a SA position this summer at a big IP law firm on the west coast. I have a full tuition scholarship at my current school. I also really don't like my current school. I applied to the T6 schools. If I get in is it worth it? I think I want to be a prosecutor or public defender. I don't think I want to do IP. Thanks for any advice!!

Do you have any career goals at this time other than prosecutor/public defender? Any preferred location(s)? You are likely to have some pretty good options being in the top 5% at your current school--especially since you are shying away for big law at this point. Since those career options aren't super prestige-heavy, I'd think the gains from transferring would matter only as much as your want to get out of the Midwest.

Then don't transfer. The debt isn't worth it if these are your goals.
