Withdrew earlier tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed that someone in this thread gets my spot!

you and me both!
my question is whether the new admissions dean threw out a few more admits than her ideal xfer-class size after calculating the usual attrition due to YS kids jumping ship, or whether there might actually be a few more offers incoming. I guess we'll know in the next day or so...

I tried to withdraw and Harvard replied that they need written and signed confirmation. I'm guessing decisions will be out by the time the letter gets from CA to Cambridge, but I'll try anyway. I understand the policy, but it makes it hard to do the right thing here...

Woah, really? Are they trying to drag this out as long as possible? I wonder if they'll do more admits based on "informal" withdrawals like yours?
Either way, thanks for trying. Much appreciated.

Heh. NYU and Georgetown were just like, "Okay, cool, deuces."
I guess with Harvard it is conceivable someone would "withdraw" your application to try to get your spot.

Why? I'd take Harvard over Stanford in a heartbeat.

I almost wish I'd get my ding so I can move on. But there's torturous hope until I actually get it.

Harvard would have been cool but I am excited about Penn. I secretly hoped every other school would reject me.

I know for a fact H already accepted two students from my school, and we are not T14. There's no way they're taking a third. I've written H off at this point. However, the torturous hope... why no ding yet???

True, except Miles was dinged in the middle of the day today. So, who knows.
