Northwestern 2010 Transfer Cycle

Post by stinger35 » Wed Jul 07, 2010 5:10 pm

Just wanted to create this as I know of several TLS'ers who applied and many that NU is their top choice.

For those lucky enough to get the email yesterday.....stats? attending?

"More Transfer decisions today! Notifications going out shortly. There will be more going out later this week." 14 minutes ago via web

Ugh. Another day of nothing...starting to get pretty worried.

Anyone?

Thanks for starting this post... NU is a definite reach for me, but STILL-- it has been torture watching those tweets every afternoon! I'll keep you posted if I hear anything. Goodluck!!

For what its worth... I spoke to someone in admissions about submitting another LOR last Friday and they told me it had to be in by the end of this week at the lastest to "possibly" be considered. That leads me to believe that NU will continue to send out acceptances thru Friday.

Between top 2-3% in the class. Top 30ish school. Probably won't be attending, so for those waiting, trust that I will be withdrawing soon. Best of luck, all!

Has anyone heard back from Northwestern yet???

Also, does anyone know whether they will call/email and/or send a hardcopy in the mail with regard to offers/denials?

Thanks!

You either get an e-mail stating the decision or an e-mail to check your status on NU's website. Not sure if they follow up with hardcopy later.

Have you joined http://groups.yahoo.com/group/transferapps/ ?? Good additional info in the databases there about methods of acceptance.

Never posted here before but I'm in the transfer pool for NW. I follow their twitter and it seems that notifications are sent out a little before 5pm each day. I haven't heard anything yet. On another thread someone said they were in via email, so maybe if your email says to check your status it indicates a rejection? Regardless, we should know very soon.

Did the email itself say you were in or did you have to log into your status checker? Also, has anyones NW status checker changed from complete to "under review" or anything? Mine just says complete. Does NW change that or do you just get a decision w/ no change in status? Copy /Paste the generic acceptance email leaving out any personal info?

Congrats. Do you mind sharing your numbers? I'm really hoping to avoid a move to D.C.

The e-mail itself said Congrats and provided other information as well. My status checker still just says Complete.

NW has sent out two rounds of notifications so far (Tues/Wed), does anyone know how long this daily notification process will continue???

Also, has anyone received a rejection letter from NW yet?

I am an eagerly waiting #1 at T4.

Do u think I should send an addendum letting them know I made Law Review at my current school or is that implied if u are Top 10%? Would it be overkill? Stating the obvious? Too late?

1. Look at their twitter (they straight up said they will tweet before ANY decisions are sent out)
2. They send them out at 4:55 CENTRAL time every day

At this point I would be satified with ANY news. The silence from NU has been unbearable.

Obviously I feel extremely lucky to have a t14 acceptance under my belt. That being said, I freakin haven't heard a single word from the other 9 schools I applied to. What the hell???

Do you think today's tweet means that NU is done handing out offers???... the past two days they have said "there will be more going out this week." Today, they ommitted that line.

Dear God, I can't believe my life has come to analyzing admissions tweets. Shoot me now.

Who knows? i would guess no by looking at transferapps, since they usually went out a little later, but its entirely possible. Guess i should start looking into apartments outside of Chicago now...

I'm betting it's over for now. They could easily get out 30-35 acceptance notifications in 3 days and that now gives time for withdrawals to withdraw so they can accept the standbys by the 15th.

Any ideas how many generally withdraw from NU?

I'm still waiting at #1 T4.

I don't think this was a good transfer season for T4's at NU, #1 or not. I also think I'm just going to try and enjoy accepting the Law Review from my current school tonight and being a top student where I am at. Nothing is done for sure until the rejection comes through but yea, it looks like I'll be dancing w/ the one that brought me.
