i'm embarrassed to admit that last night i had a dream that i met you IRL (pretty sure you introduced yourself as "danteshek," too). i've apparently been spending far too much time on TLS.

^^ Where else did you apply? Because USC seems like an extreme safety school with those numbers.

He probably isn't going

T3 7%. I wouldn't worry too much, I was told the majority of their decisions weren't coming until after the deadline (today) and that most people would find out on the same day.

When they decide to tell me, I guess. I think they are trying to figure out who is staying and who is going - to decide how many people to take from the write on competition. They already sent invitations to people in the top 10%.

There is something off about Calboy's post. I got the following email when my app was complete at USC:

Once the Admissions Committee begins the review process and a decision is made, we will notify you via postal mail. We cannot release decisions over the phone or by email.

I also got that email. But USC sent my acceptance via email as well. I'm surprised how quickly USC's decision came since all my apps went complete around the same time. I've only heard back from 3 other schools, having applied to 20.

Oh and to contribute to the thread:

Coming from Top 1% at T4.

In at USC & Hastings
Out at U of Virginia & UCI
 :?:

When did UCI begin sending out decisions? How were you notified? Congrats on your successes.

yeah I was surprised to receive an email as well - guess they changed their mind

in case anyone was wondering, USC gave me 6 days to respond and requires a $750 seat deposit. early OCI is 8/9-12 with a registration deadline of 7/16, although they say they make every effort to accommodate transfers admitted late. mandatory orientation 8/18. I'll be declining - good luck to all who are waiting!

Yeah. UCI is being extremely cautious and trying to make a big splash in rankings, etc. in the next year or so.

For posterity's sake:

High in the top 5% at Bay Area T2.
Applied: Berkeley and Stanford
Accepted to and attending Berkeley.
Withdrawing from Stanford before getting a decision (they couldn't get it to me in time to beat Berkeley's deadline).
