Good luck, bro. I know I give you a hard time for hedging, but I hope you see that as a good thing. Friends, even strangers, should call people out on destructive behavior. And hedging gets you nowhere, fast. And I construe "hedging" very broadly.
Just be confident and focused, and take what it is you want. In this case: your t14 transfer acceptance. Btw, I think you're a lock at NU. Submit a great writing sample; but also talk about your work experience in your PS and how much it has shaped your approach to studying the law.

Re: Official 2010 Transfer Cycle Results Thread
Great thread. I wish we had this for last year's transfer class.
t40 school, top 15% first semester when I applied and was accepted (now top 10%).
Georgetown EA - Deferred (withdrew)
Chicago EA - Accepted (attending)
In response to PM, indicating that this may create false hope -- my rank is misleading because I had all As and A-s. My school only releases rankings in 5% increments and has a high curve. Basically my school's system fucked me. Each of my professors indicated to me, as most will confirm here on TLS, that the difference between an A and an A- is largely arbitrary, and in many cases simply based on luck. This is also evidenced by my second semester grades, which were a different variation of As and A-s. I am sure that this was taken into consideration by the admissions committees. In any event, I hope that this encourages people to aim high, regardless of whether it creates false hope. Word.

A'nold, I think you should update the original post with the new info you get that way when this thread is pages long people can look at the first post and get the gist.
just a suggestion.

Your postings suggest that you think you are way better than you really are and you think Yale is drooling over your tiny pink top 10% at a t2.chitown825 wrote:Your posting suggests that you spend all your time on this board. Re: Official 2010 Transfer Cycle Results Thread
Top 5%, ex-t30 (now a swan-diving t35 - by the way, if a school was #18 just three years ago, and its sinking rank is mostly due to its really awful career planning office, do you think transfers from there carry more weight than your regular #35-ish school?). So far I got into Georgetown, EA, and have now applied to Chicago, Columbia, and Harvard, whose write-on I did and about which I feel either delusionally or totally appropriately confident. I plan to apply to Stanford, NYU, Penn if I can ever think of something to say about their obnoxious supplementary essays, and Duke, my alma mater.

(said it a million times, but...)
Low T2, top 5%, applying to
Applying to CCN, BMVP, NU, Duke, GULC. Cornell. Probably not V though. Stupid in-State.
Just keepin my fingers hugely crossed for NU, M, Duke, GULC. Would literally almost die of happiness.

Re: Official 2010 Transfer Cycle Results Thread
I think it would be better to wait for actual acceptances/denials to start updating the op. People add schools or might not post their results. I think posting actual results and updating then is a better idea.

IMHO, yes. I'm no expert and am applying myself and transferapps seems to make it look like a long shot, but hey, t20 and top 10% will get you pretty close...why not try?EggShellPlaintiff wrote:Top 10% at T20.

t40, ~top 15% (I think based on small sample size... rank still not released).
Duke, UVA, W and L, W and M, Georgetown, GWU, Berkeley (not likely)
Personal reasons for getting to the Va/DC/NC area.

Anyone have any updates? I have status checkers at H, B, UChi, and gulc so far. Going to apply to YCN early next week. This cycle feels so much more exciting compared to 1L admissions.

Top 4% at a school in the 30's.
Applications submitted to Berkeley and Georgetown. Plan to apply to: Michigan, Northwestern, Chicago, Harvard. Hoping for a school in Chicago (!)
