Has anyone else had a scholarship letter pop up in the mailings section of their status checker? :) For anyone who has gotten a scholarship letter in the mail, has it arrived pretty quickly after the date it shows up in the status checker?

(Um, yeah, patience. Not really one of my virtues.)

I'm staying at the Days Inn and I was thinking the exact same thing. I guess we'll find out!
I guess so, fingers crossed.
I've stayed there before...

It's a hotel. Don't expect a bellman to get your bags or have a free breakfast. But it's a bed, a shower, and a TV. Comfortable bed, but no extra amenities. It was perfect for me b/c I wasn't going to hang out in the room all day anyway.

Driving down tomorrow for the cookout. I'm guessing it's safe to assume that there will be a keg or two at this thing?
Spoke to a friend of mine who's currently a 1L about the ASW...he told me to get ready to drink. I'm looking forward to this weekend. It'll be a mini-vacation/spring break for me. :D

The fact that we (Pitt) are a 3 seed is terrifying cause I have seen us play all year and we're just not that good. Then again, someone has to win it.
Pitt has been breaking my heart in the NCAA tournament since Brandin Knight.
I hate Scottie Reynolds. So much.
When that floater went down last year I started a drinking binge I will never rival. Couldn't get out of bed til the next day at 6. Worst part? I was at Penn State visiting the girlfriend, not a kindred spirit in sight.

can anyone comment on the quality of doubletree? It looked decent on tripadvisor and I hope it indeed is as good as it first appeared.

Ok, someone else asked this a while back in the thread but I'm all for recycling...Assuming I live in Jeffersonian or Ivy Gardens do I need to bring a car? I got a motorcycle and I'm unsure if I should sell it and get a car or sell it and just pocket the money. Can I survive C'ville with just two feet and a heartbeat and no motorized transportation? This sort of brings up the question...how is c'ville's public transportation system?

Yeah, you can. I've been asking Vanwinkle about this. Jeffersonian/Ivy/Arlington are within walking distance to the school and Barracks Shopping, which is all you need to survive. Public transportation is decent as in it's free with a UVa ID and goes downtown. Timing of the buses is iffy though, so don't rely on them if you're under time constraints.

I would recommend a car if you live in Ivy. You'll walk to school but still generally need a car. Barracks is a pretty long walk so I guess it depends what you consider walkable. If you're not going to have a car, live somewhere on Arlington Blvd.

Any of the people already in Cville venture out to the bars for St. Patrick's Day? If you did, I should mention the lines were unusually long due to St. Patrick's Day, not usually that bad.

I was at home yelling at the television like a mad person. I'm sure no one at Penn State was interested in hearing you complain. They had just won the [strike]Toilet Bowl[/strike] NIT. ...In grade school I played against that kid, Jackson from Penn State.

Has anyone else seen their status checker pop up with a scholarship letter? My status checker has not changed one bit :( I suppose this means that I can give up on merit aid...

The tournament is only 3 weeks, but bragging rights are 3 years.
Just got in on this. I didn't start looking at brackets until last night, so if my picks are way off, that's my excuse. But I figure I can't be any worse than in years past.

Hey, hope those of you in town for ASD are enjoying yourselves. If anyone is interested in prepping before and wants a copy of LEEWS to pick up at this ASD or the next one, send me a PM. I will throw in some outlines to sweeten the deal. And good luck to those of you still waiting to hear about merit scholarships!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
