Definitely harsh. As some ATL commenters mentioned, her name is associated with this review of her experience at Arent Fox; it's on the UVA website. Why in the world would she say anything negative?

First of all, Duke won the title of Douchiest Law School fair and square, and who are we to take that away from them?slider wrote:Wow.. anyone else find this ATL article kind of harsh?

Second, this line from the NYT article on TFA is waaaay harsher than anything on Above TTThe Law:
"She says one of her closest friends wanted to do Teach for America, but was rejected and had to “settle” for University of Virginia Law School."
That's just cold.

Re: UVA Class of 2013
It was a puff piece on a law school website, this guy needs to cool it. Maybe he didn't have anything to write about so he really harpooned that to make up for a lack of real substance. I'm sure the same thing exists on pretty much every law school site, probably dozens of such articles from a bunch of different students per year even. The post was just way over the top and reeks of grasping at straws. I'll give them that UVA has the d-stereotype going but it's kind of pathetic the blogger got so wound up over that. I grimaced a lot reading it thinking "come on man, seriously, it's a puff piece there is no uniqueness here." He also acts like UVA grads are dropping dead and getting laid off left and right. The market is bad and once again there just isn't any uniqueness there, he could find the same article and write it about any school. In fact, we're doing better than most I would think.slider wrote:Wow.. anyone else find this ATL article kind of harsh?

TBF, the article write it in a way that implied it wasn't because UVA was no good, but because admission standards for TFA were insanely high. It's really not a comment on the low standards of our school.badwithpseudonyms wrote:First of all, Duke won the title of Douchiest Law School fair and square, and who are we to take that away from them?slider wrote:Wow.. anyone else find this ATL article kind of harsh?

I may be in a cynical mood today but it seems pretty kind for an ATL post. Long-windedness aside, all they said was that she's too happy for their tastes and that ITE sucks. It's kind of shitty that they fail to mention the more substantive parts of her post.slider wrote:Wow.. anyone else find this ATL article kind of harsh?

Sometimes if you sign up for Comcast at Best Buy you can get a rebate on the cable modems that Best Buy sells there, which drops the price.badwithpseudonyms wrote:YCRev, or anyone else for that matter, can you recommend a legit, budget-friendly modem? I'm abandoning Comcast and switching to Embarq, I think. Fuck Comcast and their rising rates and repeated attempts to bandwidth-cap.

Do you have cable through them as well? Or not paying cable? I'm not a fan of Comcast, I have it where I am now, but it is hard to find another option for cable and internet. I'm open to splitting them up if it with be better financially.

I did, but I'm going to drop it and buy a Hulu Plus subscription instead, I think. I can get everything I want that way, and cheaper.mikeh915 wrote:Do you have cable through them as well?
