well, i only have about 7 more hours of this torture. plus, i live on staten island and if there is one thing the island is the best for, it's italian food. i'm gonna go eat the best pizza in new york, and dare i say the entire country, which is 5 blocks from my house. cannot wait. a nice, crispy slice. mmmmmnax425 wrote:hmmm u cold try some field roast sausage or even morningstar farms. just don't get the "bacon." the sausage is good, and the corn dogs are even better! Is that the place on Hylan Blvd? And is it better than DiFara?
I don't celebrate any religious holidays, so I am free to eat as much meat as I'd like today. Whoo! For those of you who celebrate, Happy Easter!
Oh, and I got yelled at at work today (mildly) for reading this thread on my iPhone instead of helping customers. Can't wait to be in DC.

Re: GULC c/o 2013
So...I just thought of something really awesome....
What IF....
Next season on The Good Wife, they need to film flashbacks to when Alicia and Will were at Georgetown and they come there to film!? How awesome would that be?! Or if they have to go to some class reunion or something. It could happen. And we, as the official "The Good Wife" watching club, would clearly get to meet them. And you know, be extras or something. It could happen.

I love the talk about the Good Wife, but I still haven't been able to get into it... Seems too much like a soap opera. I will try and watch it more though... I can't believe you guys don't bring up The Pelican Brief... Lots of Georgetown in it.starrydecisus wrote:So...I just thought of something really awesome....

Haha, you should stick with it. The Court scenes are great. In the beginning, it's a lot of Peter and his hookers (lol), but it gets better. I started watching partway into it, so I don't know what it's like to start from the beginning.Unitas wrote:I love the talk about the Good Wife, but I still haven't been able to get into it... Ha! I actually just read The Pelican Brief and was going to comment about it on here but got too busy! It's been forever since I've seen the movie though, but I've been wanting to watch it now that I read the book.
My undergraduate thesis is on male victims of domestic violence and how they are treated/perceived in society and the legal system!

I think they were filming at Brooklyn Law school recently. And they used them as extras! So there is definitely hope for us. I can be a brilliant Georgetown student that Ari Gold gives a giant pile of money for no reason... yes.Unitas wrote:I love the talk about the Good Wife, but I still haven't been able to get into it... Unitas: It does get much stronger as the season goes on. But if you don't love it, you don't love it. I think the great acting really makes it for me. That and the awesomeness that is Kalinda.
Starry: that thesis sounds very cool.
I might netflix stream the Pelican Brief right now...

Not personal at all. I'm just very interested in victim advocacy and victim's rights. I knew I wanted to do research on domestic violence, but a lot of it has already been done. Many people are hesitant to do research on male victims, so I knew that it would not only be interesting but rather new to the discipline as well!Unitas wrote:Pelican Brief = greatness... Thanks, Volsi! And that is so awesome they were filming there. I'm kinda jealous. But if there's ever another law school they'll film at, we know it'll be ours : )volsi wrote:I think they were filming at Brooklyn Law school recently. And they used them as extras! I'm watching the Pelican Brief. Julia Roberts is so young!
And its funny how the protest scene from the beginning is so topical.
Starry, I think you and I will be able to talk a lot of policy when we start school.
also, lol, pleated pants.

Sigh. I have to get a job this summer (work on campus during the school year), and it'll probably be in retail...or maybe Disney? I really, really, really would like to find a paid job with a law firm, but I'm doubtful those exist at the moment.Kim617 wrote:HATE HATE HATE retail, i cannot imagine working at applevolsi wrote:It's absolute madness in here right now, I can't even explain it.
