I am curious if people usually bring SOs. I am bringing mine becuase she needs to see Chicago, etc. and her opinion is really important to my decision.

common consensus seems to be that bringing an SO is a tiny bit awkward (but probably not nearly as bad as bringing your parents or something like that). you could always let her explore the city / campus while you're doing the more official activities (attending a mock class, meeting with professors, etc.) and then have her join up again when you go out to the bars/do whatever at the end of the night with the rest of the admitted students.

From the admitted students chat for Chicago with their Associate Dean for Career Services, Abbie Willard:
"<DeanWillard> We know that approximately 80% of our 2Ls have accepted positions with frims that interviewed here last fall. We also know that of the 20% who are still seeking, many of them are holding out for public interest, government positions, and fellowships that come in later in the spring."

As someone strongly leaning towards Chicago, I am happy to see this. I expected the number to be quite a bit lower based on what I've heard regarding OCI at the CCN schools in general.

On an unrelated note, I was flipping through the Admitted Students' Handbook and I was pretty surprised by how few graduates end up in NYC. The pie chart on pg. 48 shows that only 2% end up in the entire New England region, which seems incredibly low even factoring in self-selection and the like. Was anyone else surprised by that?

New York is Mid-Atlantic, not New England.

On an unrelated note, the dates and RSVP forms for the Coast-to-Coast Admitted Student Events are up. I'm probably going to the evening Los Angeles one.

I'll be there as well. Should be fun.
