Libertarian PI Internships

Post by gregw8705 » Tue Nov 03, 2009 1:42 am

It's kind of a long-shot that anyone will know about this, but I'll post anyway and see if I get a response.

I'm thinking of applying for a 1L internship with non-profit organizations like Cato Institute, IHS, etc.

Are these jobs available at all during 1L summer? If so, are they more or less exclusively the province of HYS students with a particular political bent or are they available to us lowly T30 students? I don't want to naively waste my time applying to a job that is simply not available unless I'm at a T14. I can't imagine they have too many openings, so I would not be surprised if they were easily filled by a handful of T14 students with a PI mentality and a small-government philosophy.

If anyone can speak to which schools are represented in these positions or whether they might be available to someone from a T30 school, I'd appreciate it.
