Yes. The consensus seems to be it's not an easy year for that.

Is it that or is the market generally still yet to make calls? I haven't heard either way from most Chicago firms thus far but perhaps I'm simply not getting the cbs.

i have heard of chicago cbs for people targeting lit for:

winston
mayer
kirkland
sidley
jones day
katten
skadden
latham

i can't speak to the smaller firms in the city (or jenner) but it seems like the big practices with most of the associate positions have moved already. if more callbacks come, my guess would be they will come after people have been rejected or turned down offers after cbs. that likely won't be a lot of people

the people with the best grades + LR generally seem to want lit.

So are they dinging people as well or is that on their backburners? Or, in other words, if a ding hasn't been received, is that equivalent to being wait-listed at this point?

i dunno, but looking at previous years' threads suggests that waves of callbacks don't happen, unless people just didn't post them

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you wrote, but callback offers are actually made in waves. If someone has gotten a callback from a firm that you interviewed with and haven't heard from, chances are that you are not getting a callback. Sure, some folks who have gotten callbacks could decline and the firm could extend more callbacks but that's a low probability because firms usually take that into account as well when they decide how many callbacks to extend. On the other hand, if no one has heard back yet, that's a different story.

yeah sorry if i wasn't clear, but i agree with you. i meant a firm won't invite people for callbacks, and then two weeks later do another "wave". obviously i don't know if thats true, but it seems like it

Oh I see and yes I agree with you about a firm not doing multiple waves of callbacks.
