you can always start working and not put this job on your resume later if salary history is a concern. Better to take the bird in hand.

Tbh hard to evaluate when it's not clear what the job is.

Is it compliance? HR? Policy related work??? Or something different? What's the up-side/growth potential with the other offer. Almost no non-law job besides I-banking, or big time consulting will match market Midlaw or Biglaw salaries.
